Exactly what the topic says, make LM available to people that don't use Windows without needing WINE/Windows emu?
Yes, make it available to everyone!

I think he should try to get LM ported to other OSes, it would help out tremendously with hacking. LM through WINE is too slow for me. v_v;;

Um... well, most of the users use Windows... but I guess if you use Mac... then... well, Fu doesn't have time to port, in short. If someone were to do it, it would be... not him.

I don't see why not, sure make it available to more people. Unless Fu Dosen't have a Mac to test it on (that would make things a lot harder). And if he's not going to update LM any more except for small bug fixes, then I don't think he'll even feel like converting it. But it would be nice (I don't use a Mac, so it dosen't affect me) for the non Windows users.

Porting an application from one OS to another would be quite a lot of work, especially, if the original application wasn't designed at the start with running on it on a different operating system in mind. Besides, there are so few ROM hackers who do use Linux or any other OS than Windows, so doing all that work would be pointless as very few people would get benefits out of it.

If the program wasn't made for windows (maybe DOS), maybe it could be easy. I can be wrong, though. Anyway,
Fusoya is done with LM. Deal with it.
He is still releasing bug fixes for LM, though.

No. I can say with confidence everyone who voted yes is horribly self-centered. Come on, do you know how long it took to get LM this far? OVER THREE YEARS. Do you really want to have FuSo spend at least two more years learning programming code for Mac and Linux in order to to spend an additional five years coding LM for Mac and Linux?

Alright, admittedly, I exaggerated the time it would take, but it would still be a huge waste of time. It would be hell on FuSo, who has stated multiple times he just wants to get on to other work. Can't you let him get on to other work? CAN'T YOU!?!

Not really, Kyouji. Fu could rewrite it in Java, because any OS supports java. But it would require several recoding, and it would run slow anyway.

I think Knuckles T15X should make me a cup of tea. But he probably won't because he isn't my servant. However, it would be helpful

Too many people say "Windows is buggy, sucks, etc." The same is true for other operating systems. (Some handle bug better than others...but...) Just get an old windows comp to use for LM.

I have a PC, but have migrated to Linux because Windows was starting to become a hassle. Those words hurt. =(

It gives the same effect as running LM on WINE, but wastes space in my room. Too much work!

I dont really care... I have windows, and Im happy.

Sure, now we'd get people who use Mac's into the hacking world..... but is it really necessary?

Oh, and pie please!

I'll take the pie. Fu wants to work on another editor... I doubt he'll want to port LM. It would be nice, though.

Why can't Fu give the source to a trustworthy person and have him/her port it?

IF someone would port LM, I hope that it would be to the following systems:

Windows CE (Bill Gates Magic)
Eniac (Lunar Retro)
SNES (Sidescroller Maker)
PHP (Lunar Online)
MegaZeux (Exo Magic)

(End of list)

Let's just leave Fu alone about this stuff and keep him informed on bug fixes. If there are any left. Lunar Magic would be easier on Windows anyway because of its GUI.

And I'll take a chocolate Oreo pie!

Uhhh... Yeah. I think he meant port it over to other Operating Systems so that people with Linux or whatever the Mac OS is can use it, not to make Lunar Magic work on... That... And if it's sarcasm, or a joke in general, God that's confusing

If someone really wants to run Lunar Magic, why not install Windows, and only boot into it when you want to use LM. You can have more than one operating system on a PC, you know.
