Yeah, why not? It'd be like that PHPNuke or whatever that's called.
It wouldn't be that complicated would it?
Just make some files use the layout.php and function.php files then run everything through SQL, think about it lol....I'd like to see a site like this, heck I might do it...MIGHT is the keyword....So anyone like the idea?

People have already done this. With a news hack and some pages with just using layout.php, it's very possible.

Keyword SOME pages, and only a news hack? I mean the whole freaking site like it, you could have a user submission section, like the news hack, that they post something in a forum and it shows up!
Nobody has done a complete system in this, like 100% of the site is done in AcmlmBoard. Somebody should do it, it's a good idea.

you would need a seperate database, changing all the tables and feilds, if you knew how it all worked, you could chnage it all.

uh, no, you wouldnt use a seperate database....if you did that, you couldnt have the users that signed up on the board, members of the website...so you would use the same database, and just make new tables for what you want to add..

I actually plan to do something like this, but I'm waiting until I get a copy of AcmlmBoard v1.9x, so it may be a few years...

Man I hear ya about work, I got a new job, I work at a damned gas station like 1/2 of each day, we never get any customers, they always go to 7 Eleven....So I sit there on my laptop practically the whole time, laptop has none of my work or anything on it anymore though....I still get paid a lot though...When we get customers, I stand up, ring the stuff up, and go back to the laptop...Boring work man....

I was thinking about this before. I might do it this summer. I just have been busy during the school year. Plus I am going to be a code whore in June so I will be really busy working on my own forum system with a few other people. I might make my own site that looks the same as the forum system.

Well I want a job, but oppurtunities are limited so I may end finally making my site this summer and a acmlm powered/portal site would be a big option for me since I would like to do something of the sort.

I have an alternative.

Make a real site with real content. That's how boards/portals become popular. Unlike Anime US, this board was spawned from an actual website with plenty of content.

True, if it wasn't for Acmlm's awesome hacks and the fact that the SMW community is here. I wouldn't have joined this board.

Infact I have a idea for a site that may be popular. I have the idea in my head, but I don't have enough time for doing it currently.

Err not exactly there scooter. AUS originally had content and first started as a website over at lycos.co.uk. The main site was about anime, whats hot in japan such as food and anime wise, free anime wall paper, ect ect.

They dident get many hits thou, and made the first forum a proboard I believe, then moved to acmlm after a solid time.

Anyways, an all acmlm site was already done by I believe Gywall ... dont quote me on that one.

Just like what Ex said; and if you really want to get into it right now as we speek I am working on new and original content, all created by me and my members. Also I think that Kirbynite runs a site with a type of acmlm portal system.

It isn't hard, I have a full Acmlm Powered site.
I've made an online browser game, using the same database which holds the board data.
You just need to add some extra tables (if necessary) .
