Guns are only a tool, and like most any tool, they can be very dangerous when not handled correctly. Hell, I'm totally in favor of mandatory safety training before people can own a gun, I have no problems with that at all. I just don't see how it could possibly help the crime situation if criminals have access to guns and normal citizens don't. |

| Thank you, Yoshi Dude. ^-^ That was my point exactly. I know I made my point rather crudely and somewhat childishly, but I didn't particularly care. Sometimes it's the only language people understand. Although... Stasis didn't. But it probably wasn't aimed at him anyway, so. Although I wasn't saying that was the only reason to have a gun. I accept that a few people would want them for target practice, and some other people might seriously want them for defense. It's just really sad to see people say 'guns are soooo cool, I can't wait to have a gun!!'. Jesus, I got that out of my system years and years ago by playing Doom. Nobody sees why Kwan was trolling... Cos he wasn't. He was actually making a point about statistics. |

| I don't do it for machoism. I'm fascinated by the physics of the weapon, the fact that it travels faster than sound...It's astounding. Also, the stylization of some late 1800s and early 1900s weapons are beautiful. The ivory inlays range from basic incriptions of names, to actual replications of the friezes of Greek temples...I'd love to own that. So perhaps if people would stop making generalizations...The thread wouldn't be so virulent. |
