Well, apparently we USED to have to do the frogs in high school, but that was cut out before I took Bio. Apparently it was a bit too expensive.

So we made do with... EYES. I think they were cow eyes or something. Anyways, my partner and I went to our station, and... the smell knocked us right on our ass. Same with around half the kids in class.

I don't think many of us finished the dissection.

The only thing I ever had to disect was a cow heart...my group was actually pretty enthused about it, I remember. I don't remember much else from the experience, mind you...

As much as I love Samurais and slicing people, I couldnt brink myself to slowly disect something and examine its insides and stuff...thats why I never want to be a doctor that kind of stuff just freaks me out.

If they ever try to make you dissect something just say that your a "peace activist" and its against your "religion" to disect any sort of animal.

I have not yet dissected any frogs. And I am dreading it, because I like frogs. My friend in another class has already dissected a lamb and a bird, which is a mortal sin to me because lambs are my second favourite animal.

But if we had to, I wouldn't chicken out. I'd walk around feeling like a murderer after that though

I have one month left of Chemistry so its safe to assume that I wont have to dissect anything in this life time.

I did a frog dissection today, actually. Kicked ass. I did most of the cutting since I got paired up with a girl, and I was the only one to get to the brain (I said 'fuck it' and cut the skull right down the middle)

I've had to dissect a pig fetus, an earthworm, owl upchuck, a lobster, and next week: a cat.

Hmmm maybe he wasn't serious...? I wouldn't dissect a cat anyway. Actually, I don't think if any dead animal was placed in front of me, I could bring myself to cut it up.. We had to dissect a pigs kidney last year though, which wasn't very pleasant... And it smelt really bad.. like urine.. *ahem*

Two frogs (two different years), a worm, a crawdad, a huge grasshopper... I think that's all...

And sadly, I don't think the teacher was joking about the cat. Cats are indeed one of the animals that can be ordered for dissection. There's one in the back room of my dad's classroom, in a vacuum-sealed bag with that one liquid they keep disection animals in (which smells really bad). My dad's not about to make anyone dissect a cat. That one's just in there from old science teacher.

If I were you, Slash Dafter, I'd start a petition against the cat dissection. And make sure to get plenty of both student and parent (particularly the latter, as teachers aren't in the habbit of caring about what students think) signatures.

I got to dissect a pig this year. The fetal bugger was hilarious to toy with. I unravelled its intestines. I ripped off its limbs. I just had great fun. But then I got it taken away when I tried to use its own organs to turn it into a marionette. The teacher saw me making the torso dance. She didn't like it.

Yeah, cos frogs grown in a lab don't feel pain or anything.

As for dissecting cats, that's just plain fucking disgusting. Yeah!! Lets start dissecting dogs!! What fun.

We don't do dissecting much over here in England. Hardly, anyway. We dissected a squid, once. That's all. And I didn't even do any of it.

I didn't think they still did this. You know, animal rights shit. When it comes to frog dissection, I just imagined that Tiny Toons episode with the Frog in the top hat dancing. Also, I've dissected a cow's eyeball before, so I didn't think it'd be that bad.
We were given a large bucket of dead frogs. Huge bucket.. just piled onto eachother. We picked our frog.. it smelled bad, but at this point it wasn't so awful. When my lab partner (I'm not doing shit. hahaha) opened the mouth, I almost had like, a freak out moment. It was just disgusting.
As we progressed it got more disgusting. And we gotta continue tomorrow. And the next day. Oh jesus. someone got frog juice squirted in their eye.

My point is, it's disgusting, and I'm mad. >=( <-me mad
What have you guys had to dissect.. if anything.

Consider yourself lucky! I had to disect a cat, over the period of two weeks! I only wish it was a frog! It was really sad, seeing a household pet animal dead, and then tearing it apart. Also, it doesn't help when your lab partners are stuffing Altoids (mints) down it's throat, and piercing it's tongue.
