Ok, br s in your bio seem to be removed whenever you edit your profile. I copied my bio backup (which had br tags) to here, and when I submitted it, it was fine. However, when I went back to edit something, the brs got removed. Edit: Ok, so apparently, the br tags get changed to line breaks, but linebreaks don't get changed back to br tags on submission. Edit 2: Ok, so when editing a post, if you use the gt and lt thing, it gets converted to a REAL < and >. That must be fixed too (edited by Drag on 03-14-04 06:01 PM) (edited by Drag on 03-14-04 06:31 PM) |

Consider yourself lucky, it usually likes to add a bunch of "br" tags.

That must be fixed too That's not exactly the board's fault, but the browser. It can be easily 'fixed'. By displaying &< in the text box, making the actual code to be sent to the browser be &&lt;. That's a lot of work! |

No, I mean if you make a > by using & gt ;, it'll change the > generated into an ACTUAL >. So if I did & gt;br& lt;, it'd make a < br> (without the spaces), and it'd display it and not parse it, but if I edit the post, instead of reappearing as a & gt;br& lt;, it turns into the actual tag, instead of retaining that it was an & gt; thing. I also noticed it doesn't convert line breaks, and also, when I went to edit my profile the Layouts setting went back to Enabled instead of Auto-Update like I'd set it at.

I know what you mean. It's a fault on the browser, really... not a real fault, but the browser does do it... perhaps an extension for Mozilla/Firefox should be made to prevent that in textboxes. |

All I know is in some Acmlm boards your bio and post header, and signature have got to be all be one line of code or else br tags will start to add to them whenever you edit your profile. Some glitch or something.

All "br" tags should die. Well most of them. They tend to cause lots of problems. hehe

Well I'm not sure if this was a bug at the board before, but here's my example: > I made that using the ampersand thing <br> This tag uses gt and lt so I can get it to show up. Now, you see how it is, right? If I were to edit this post right now, in the textarea, the > would be changed into >, so the br tag listed above would become a real tag. But anyway, thanks for fixing the bio bug! (edited by Drag on 03-15-04 07:41 PM) |
