Edit: Eh, might as well update this first post now that this thread is active again...

Well, this is the topic for all of you hackers to refer back to if you ever forget the codes for LM.

Chelsea Bonus Menu: Open Lunar Magic. Before you do anything, type "Chelsea"(case sensitive) and 'Chelsea is "really" cute' will appear. Open the OW editor, and the Chelsea bonus menu will available be under file.

Chibi Moon hack locking: Open your rom, and save a level. Now open the OW editor and type "Chibi Moon" (case sensitive). 'Chibi Moon is cute!' will appear. Close the OW editing window and go to the level editing window. Hit Ctrl+E to open a dialogue box. Type in the hacks "Title" In the box, and hit ok. The hack is locked now, and ready to distribute! (At least once an IPS is made)
PLEASE NOTE!!!! This is an almost irreversible form of protection against theft. Even you wil be locked from your hack. Make sure you keep a backup, otherwise you may have a problem.

The world is not enough: Open the OW editing window, and navigate to the "change events passed" box undet the Overworld menu. Open it, and go to the dialogue box. type in "The world is not enough!" (case sensitive). and hit escape. Now you have a star to view. Repeat the process to gain the moon icon.

8x8 extended GFX viewing: Open the 8x8 editor in lunar magic level editing mode. Press Ctrl+Shift+Page Down. Now you can view many more GFX.

16x16 sprite GFX viewing: Open the 16x16 editor lunar magic level editing mode. Press Ctrl+Shift+Page Down. Scroll all the way down for sprite GFX data.

Amy is cute!: Open The OW editor and go to the "Change events passed" box. Type "Amy is cute!"(case sensitive) and hit escape. A message box will appear and there will be some bianary near the top.

The chocobo: Copy down the bianary on top of the message box from the previous code. Re-open the change events passed box. Type the bianary you copied down earlier in the same space and hit escape. Now you have the chocobo to greet you every time you open LM. It makes the Wark Wark Wark thing happen too.

Pallete hack - Hitting F8 allows you toggle the pallette hack on the title screen. Normally, the background turns blue when "erase file" is selected, but LM installs a hack that bypasses this when you first save Level C7. You can use F8 to turn it off, or back on again (changes are saved after you save Level C7)

The "I have no idea what possessed Fu to make me press so many buttons to get this feature" feature: Open up a level and go into the 16x16 editor window. In this order, press and hold Ctrl + Shift + Alt + F1 + N + O + Insert. A box will appear. Now, I have no idea what this does yet, or how to use it, but Im sure FuSoYa will be glad to share

This should not be stickied, as there are only a handful of codes that we know.
But it is pretty useful, and it should be of help to newbies.

Locking ROMs: Type Chibi-Moon on the main level editor. It will say "Chibi-Moon is very cute!" on the status bar. Now, hit Ctrl+E to lock the ROM.

I remember there was a code that changed the moon to a star, and vise-versa, but I forget what it was.

Thanks for jogging my memory.

There's also a really old code for back when the Overworld Editor was hidden.
Type Chelsea in the main window and press Ctrl-O to open the Overworld Editor.

Unfortunately the shortcut only works after you type the code, so you can't always use Ctrl-O to open the editor.

You used to be able to open it with Ctrl+O with out typing in Chelsea first, I think it was in LM v1.30 - LM v1.51 (somewhere around there).

I figured this out when I was going to save a level using Ctrl+I, and I accedently hit Ctrl+O some of the times.

I know it's generallly not a good idea to bump something that's so far down, but hey, if it's to help the newbies, it ain't gonna do much good near the bottom of the list, right?

There should be a one-post editable thread that has links to all this kind of stuff, kind of like the "help thread" in the old board.

Very n00bish question here, but hey, this place is FOR n00bs right? Anyway, I was wondering where exactly you type these codes, particularly the Chelsea code, upon opening Lunar Magic? To be honest I'm not hugely familiar with the program yet (concentrating on level design and simple GFX modifications really) and I haven't seen any "secret code" type bit.

Also, if this isn't included in the Chelsea additions, I was wondering how I would go about editing the writing on the title screen, you know, the "Super Mario World" bit?

Thanks muchly y'all!!

Hooooly crap. Holy holy crap. This is awesome. Why didn't anyone tell me about this. O.o'' With this, you can fix the glitch in the game that makes Chargin' Chuck's furthest arm blue when they are charging at you... Cooool...

EDIT: Actually, no. You can't change it at all...

...Bollocks. What's the point of that then. >.< You can't even change the pallette used... Why not? Bah...

It was included in case someone (like me) remaps the sprites in the ROM, and they no longer look right in Lunar Magic (for example, my feathers looked like sliding Koopas for a long time). Also, if you find any sprites that use the wrong palette in LM, you can fix them yourself, instead of waiting for FuSoYa to release an update.

Mal'caor: there is no "secret code" box, you just type them in the specified window. Obviously, you can't see what you're typing, so type carefully.

Don't know for sure but a post a while back said that if you change the colours and hit F9 (I think thats the key) it will ask to save FG and BG. If you click ok it hould save. Thats what some poster said a while ago, but don't know if it works.
