Java? Try JBuilder, or maybe textpad, or maybe just plain notepad. They all use the same compiler though. (you can get it at java.sun.com or something like that) |

if you want a good IDE for java, use Eclispe...it is an open source IBM product. as for compiler, I believe Jikes is good one because its fast. It has more inituitive error messages unlike Java. However, it suffers from syntax error issues. I remember I forgot one close brace of an if statement and it generated 100+ error messages. I ran the same code through the javac and it found the close brace error and nothing more. |

JCreator LE - well this is what my class used, it's written entirely in C++ I think, so it's faster than the other compilers. BlueJ - I like the look and feel of this one better, but it's written in Java itself so it's slower, and it's not that good with making applets. Yeah, I also heard Eclipse was good too, but I haven't tried it yet. |
