Scroll lock were used before in old DOS applications and such. I never use it nowdays and I have my scroll mouse.

I use num lock everyday, and I seldom turn it off.

Scroll lock, it have happened that I have turned that on by mistake. But I don't remember the latest time I done that.

My dad tend to have Caps lock on when I talk with him on MSN. Annoying...

Eh, I don't use most of the keys on a keyboard. Scroll lock, "menu", Windows, Insert, etc. Removing them would be bad too. They do have important uses in certain programs. Scroll lock is not only tough to find, but it rarely does anything in general. I'll just stick to shift(ing) for ALL CAPS.

I sometimes hit caps lock accidentally when I try to hit tab, or very rarely A, but that's not a big problem. Holding shift sucks because you have to type with one hand and release it for numbers and such. Even moreso, when writing out hex, I hate when the letters are in lowercase (3C23D70A looks a lot better than 3c23d70a) and I'm usually switching windows a lot, so I don't want to mess something up by holding Shift.

This should be the only type of layout allowed.

Keyboards with wacky layouts like this should be burned.

What's most annoying of all is when I hit Enter instead of '. I always end up sending stuff in AIM/IRC before I'm done typing it. They should put a space bewteen the two.

As for Scroll Lock, it's completely useless. Turning Num Lock off does the same thing as turning Scroll Lock on, and I never turn it off anyway.

I use caps when I need too. If I need to get a point across I will "YELL." I think it should stay.

One of my school computers keyboards have a messed up ' key, I usually use that alot in programming. And sometimes when I use it... it sticks. (in other words '''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''' appears forever... it's stoppable but ut get's stuck in that strange hard way...)

Thought the most annoying keyboard behavior I know is when keyboards use the wrong "language" layout. It have happened for me that a Swedish keyboard get's the US layout. Some things are on a diffrent place (they had to move around things so they could fit

I'm using caps lock rarely, only when going really sarcastic in another board
Stressing SINGLE words is much faster than to hit the proper key above shift on the left side.
But banishing a useful key is useless, when inserting several special characters, e. g. the alternate symbols in the top row of numberals goes much more convenient than holding shift. When dealing with SQL queries, this might come in handy

I've used three diferent keyboards, i sometimes hit it by accident when typing 'A', they should flatten it's right side down a bit, That'd be better, byt anyway i don't give f-ing shit.

I do. Winkey+E = Windows Explorer, and Winkey+M = minimize all windows. However, it ought to be replaced with a generic special key instead of being the "Windows Key".

anyhow, here's an example of what I mean regarding the Enter Key, Backslash Key and Backspace key:

The layout of my keyboard
What it should be

And as for Caps Lock, mine is "shallower" nearer the A key, so it'd be harder to accidentally hit it (presumably), like so

Lol why such controvery over a key well I dont use shift since ive developed my own typing style which i consider to be more optimized than the standard way(althoguh it probably isn't) Its a reasonable size and I doubt its going anywhere. I ahve a few friends who consider themselves keyboard purists as in no mouse and they use it sometimes too.

I do use caps lock on occasion, but if they got rid of it I would live. Oddly enough I have a great deal of trouble capatilizing words with the shift key. I usually end up with something like "SAndrock" instead of "Sandrock."

maybe you need a new keyboard...because my laptop keyboard's backspace, backslash, and enter key is arranged in that fashion...

anyways...the most annoy keyboard layout i've seen is a keyboard prototype sun provided for their solaris terminals. it swapped the caps lock with the left control..it was because of that stupid thing that I was forced to use shift

I hve never intentially hit the caps lock key. Even if I just want to type something in ALL CAPS LIKE THIS I'll just hold down the right shift key with my pinky while I type. I've never used caps lock and probably never will. If anything they should replace it with another button. That'll give me another key assignment to use with first person shooter games to add to the traditional ASDW configuration :-)

It'd feel a bit empty but it's not like I ever use it. If they came up with a neat replacement for it I'd be fine with removing it.

I think they should just switch the capslock key with the backspace, it would take a little getting use to but I think it would be easier overall.

I only hit capslock accidently when playing games and crap, so sometimes I just pop it out of the keyboard.

It's not too big of a deal, but it's enough of a deal that I voted yes to take it off the keyboard.

I don't have a Caps Lock key. Oh no! The project is working!!!

Actually, I have a key labeled as 'Caps Lock', but I remapped it to Left Control, since I think that control directly left to the A key is much easier than in some coner.
