| I'm surprised that no one else has posted this.... but I found out last night that some US citizen was beheaded a few days ago.... and the video of it was released onto the internet.... now, it wasn't just a "clean" chop with an axe or sword or something.... they sawed it off with a knife or something.... really quite gruesome.... oh and what makes it worse is in the video... the man is screaming while it happens.... really really nasty it was done in retaliation to the torturing of iraqi prisoners... so, what do people think? |

| Jas linked to the video in IRC. That was wrong. They killed an innocent just to get revenge for what some emotionally-disturbed prison guards did to Iraqi soldiers. And they didn't even kill anyone. Hell, most of the US is outraged at what the guards did (Even me). Get those radical assholes. |

| I knew that this would happen, I knew that the torture in the prisons would lead to "revange" somehow. It's sick I know, but sometimes people are cruel...  BTW I always feel that torture is wrong, sure if somebody have done something they should suffer, but not in that cruel way.  |

| I think it's horrific that people are doing these sorts of things to eachother, but I certainly can't offer any course of action. I'd advise them to stop, in the name of putting a halt to the escalating violence, but those who would take part in something like this probably don't care about the cycle. In my opinion, these folks are extremists at heart, who have wanted to do this to someone for a long time and just waited for anything that they might be able to use to justify it to themselves. It's like they don't even consider themselves to be as destructible as those that they hurt, or that they see themselves as always the invulnerable observers. Fact is that they could just as easily be put in the same situation, and they certainly aren't capable of removing that possibility. Before anyone could ever stop these things from happening, they'd have to stop provoking them to happen. And I suppose there's always the possibility that it's just more propaganda; another elaborate hoax to raise anti-Iraqi sentiment and draw attention towards the war. Not saying that's true, but as far as I know it's just as possible. |

| I think it's absolutely disgusting. It produced a hate that I'm not familiar with, for those who did it. | yeah, I have to say.... the US had this coming.... it's unfortunate that some non-soldier had to have it happen to him.... but I doubt the Al Qaeda really cared as long as he was american.... and really.... 1 person.... vs. several hundred... sure it's sick... but no better/worse than anything we've done to the Iraqi's.... unfortunately... the US is going to see this as another reason to go on a rampage in the Middle East |

| I just think it's fucking sick that time and time again our [U.S.] administration likes to emphasize that "we will not negotiate with terrorists" or something along those lines. Al Qaeda had been demanding the release of some Iraqi prisoners in exchange for returning Mr. Berg. And now we get to see innocent heads being sawed off - great.
