Has anybody else seen this?

I had heard all about it, and how it was a classic, but I watched it tonight, and it was only average...

There was an "all star cast" but that doesn't help when there's no clear plot.

I don't really remember much of the movie. I saw it a few years ago when it came out on VHS. I found it to be very long and boring, and I think I even fell asleep while watching it. All I can remember is that while watching it all I could think of was "Is it going to end soon?".

Anyway, that's just me. I'm sure for some people it's a good movie, and for others it's a great movie.

I've been thinking about it ever since I saw the end of it, and I felt the same way as you did while watching it.

Was it their goal to make the most boring war movie ever?

But, since then, and since Witt's run, it's grown on me a lot.
I wouldn't watch it again at the drop of a hat, but, now the missing plot and character development fits.
