| Where "their" refers to "the spammers'/the insulters'/the retards'"... We have had someone cuss out all the admins and then some extra members, we've had a little Frenchie kid go nuts with lot's of l's, and now we've had a kid insult one of the nicest people on the board, and not even in a very intelligent way. My question is: why? What do they intend to accomplish? Are they trying to send a message to us? Are they just trying to make the admins have something to do? I don't see the logic. Can anyone please give their thoughts as to perhaps why these people do such things, or as to why spammers spam up places intentionally in general? | I don't know, but having looked over the shoulder of people being arseholes in chat rooms, it has been just to get a reaction. Some adults (in their late teens; early to mid twenties) were going into chat rooms and being arseholes on purpose. They were doing this because the reactions to this behaviour was funny, at least to them. I'm guessing that "they" probably find our reactions funny too. So, we should probably just ignore them and not give them the reactions that they want. |

| I personally worry that overzealous admins looking to ban "stupidity" will end up making the boards significantly less active. I mean, 1/4 in Officers' Club were started by people who have been banned. And they're not worthless threads either. Overall, the marginal rise in intelligent level will not outweigh the loss in activity. If you were banned, you broke the rules. Maybe in some extremely loose sense. Basically, an admin decided you were stupid, and I guess that could violate the "use common sense" clause. But hey, that's kind of tautological. "You were banned because you broke the rule that you shouldn't make an admin want to ban you." Hah. Well, we'll see how it goes. |

These people want attention, i have been to a number of boards and their there and everywhere. Even on here and i am a newbie here. It's a waste of time But it is not always easy to brake a rule, and everyone i bet has broken at least one rule in some way. Hell i am sure i have broken a rule ( even if you've been here long or a short time like me ) I think if someone is banned they should be at least to like in a month or so get a second chance and you never know they could change their ways... anyways... |
