Allright I had to re-install windows because its drivers kept BORKING hard and badly..

well when I did .. C is now D:\ what do I mean by that? hda1 is now D:\ My system files are labeled as D:\ and not C:\..

if I open C:\ i get my second music partition.. wtf?

This is with XP Pro..

it seems you didn't get rid of XP when you reinstalled XP again...OSes are not meant to be reinstalled on top of one another. all OS assume they haven't been previously installed on teh system before. in addition, you probably didn't read the screens carefully, otherwise...you might have caught where XP was going to install itself.

Error: Um, no you didnt, or your partitions were marked incorrectly before - XP setup always labels drives in order of Primary partition, Secondary partiton, and Logical Drive.

hda1 is my windows install (master partition 1) and i have a master driver partition 2 for music..

The windows partition is the first in the line..

I remember waiting for the damn thing to format.. takes while ...

I dunno, I usually quick format, with modern drives there's no need to do a full format unless you're anal about data being recovered... and even then if you're that anal you just low-level format...
