I just finished a highly enjoyable game of Secret of Mana with a friend, and we're looking for more 2-player RPGs to play. Not necessarily in the Secret of Mana action-RPG style, but that would be nice. We just got Fusoya's SoE patch to work and we're going to play that (thanks Fusoya!) but of course after we finish we're going to be looking for more. Any suggestions/recommendations/old favorites?

Well I know FF4-6 on the SNES is two-player...in which you designate which controller controls which characters and that's about it.

If you have played SoM (or Seiken Densetsu 2) you should try playing Seiken Densetsu 3...that'd keep you busy...and be sure to get the English patched version as well.

Namco's Tales Series is also multiplayer RPG. Tales of Phantasia, Tales of Destiny, Tales of Eternia, and Tales of Destiny 2 all allow more than one person to play.

Also consider this hack.
http://fusoya.cg-games.net/soe/index.html

The orginal Secret of Evermore was single player but this patch allows 2 player.

Have a nice time with it.

Sorry Kitten Yiffer, I hate to do this to someone as nice as you, but I feel obligated to point out these kinda mistakes to everyone when they post them.

Well, Kitten Yiffer, it turns out he has it. Don't worry, you're not the first (and probably won't be the last) to make this mistake.

I'll check out FF4-6. About SD3 though.. is it actually a two-player game? I haven't managed to get a second player to have control over a character.

neotransotaku: Thanks, a whole series sounds like it'd be fun. I'll check those out! I just need to find a PS emu that has netplay support... hmm.

I'm pretty sure it has 2 player compatibility, yea... it would make sense, since Secret of Mana did, and SD3 is the sequel. I'm not quite remembering how to do it, but I know there's a way. I'll check on that later. But for now, just know that it has 2 player support.

If you can find out, let me know. I've heard that they axed the multiplayer in it, which would suck since that was one of the best parts of SoM (although it was an awesome game as well). Thanks!

Uh... Lunar: Silver Star Story and Lunar: Eternal Blue are SORT OF two player, I guess. In the battles, anyway. RPG games are really a one person experience...

Baldurs Gate for the Ps2 is good as a two player

Not on topic if you're looking for emulation though >> nuts =P
