... is there a program that can basically find out what hardware you have? I've got a Hellwit Packard to the right and it's running W98 [god damned "Restore CD" doesn't work] ... and it's displaying in 640x480 with a pitiful 16 colors. Since this has no internet connection [ovbiously] I'm hoping I can put the drivers on a disk, but oh no... it has no clue what the hardware is, or so it says. Argh. |

If you can still get into Windows 98, then you can right click on my computer, select properties, and go to the device manager tab--there you can find the names windows believes your hardware is called. | |||

well...maybe name recognition gets better with later versions of windows? but that doesn't help you much now does it? i guess if you don't want to deal with learning the names of your hardware, you could always install a later verision of windows... |

Download Aida32 from Here It tells you all of your hardware and I think it provides links for the updated drivers to download. (edited by mrmenz on 05-02-04 03:05 AM) |
