Today i almost exploded my kitchen. I was making some easy-mac when i forgot to put the water and put the microwave on high. Then when i was watching Tv i hear something exploding. I went to see what happen and i saw smoke everywhere, lucky me there was no fire everywhere but on the microwave. Now i have to get a new microwave and clean the mess...

THE MACARONI ALMOST SET THE HOUSE ON FIRE AND ATE MY BABIES Seriously, that's just ridiculous. Did you put it on for like an hour? wtf. XD I saw some show where like these guys put chunks of metal in a microwave on high, and the damage it did was screw up the microwave. It didn't catch on fire or anything. What happened to the microwave itself to keep it from working, do you know? |

Actually if you put metal in a microwave, the plasma sparks it creates fry the regulators on a fridge and make it so radiation slowly leaks out when it's turned on. At least, that's what I've heard. So YD, even if it doesn't actually catch fire, doesn't mean it's not stupid.

I did something similar one time... at school... middle school actually (so a few years back), at lunch time, as a dare... I put some goldfish (the snack) and their bag (which is made of youknowwhat) in the microwave and set it for 2 minutes... and all hell broke loose. Literally. Damn... NEVER be that stupid.

Actually my uncle just did something like this. He put a slice of chicken in for 25 minutes instead of 2:50.... Smoke.... yay. We caught it in time. Needless to say that little chicken was never the same again.

I set fire to a bagel in the microwave this year. I think I put it on defrost by accident. All of a sudden I hear this hissing, and smoke billowing out of the bagel. I popped the door open, and was greeted with a thick smog. Worst bagel ever. |

put a bag of popcorn with the "this side up" facing down when I was much younger....all that happened was the door blew open and steam/smoke spread out. but, i never exploded a microwave. I do hear putting AOL cd's in them can cause desirable effects as well as pretty colors though

My mom did something like that to the microwave once when she put in these noodles along with a fork. I was playing Mario Paint and all of a sudden, the TV shut off. There's still vaporized noodle stains on the wall above the toaster.

Originally posted by MajinBlueDragon It works with any CD, DVD or anything with a metal and/or reflective surface ... But on the other hand your're right; nobody would waste the own precious and expensive audio CDs. And unless it is in series like Jackass it is not too common to shred the own microwave or parts from the own flat/house Some years ago I lived in a flat with cookers using gas ... happily never something mad happened, like "leaking" gas; but some streets further a house nearly exploded because a person forgot to shut his gas cooker |

I just remembered a hilarious family story: My grandfather wanted to heat up a bucket of fried chicken, so he decided to put it in the oven to heat up. Long story short, the household then achived +1 Flaming Chicken Bucket, and I don't mean Richard Simmons suddenly pitching KFC. |

Worst thing that's ever happened to me with the microwave was when some frozen pasta overflowed... But aside from a cheesy smell in the kitchen, nothing else came from it. Seriously, are microwaves so fragile that everyone has a horror experience to tell from using them? |

Colleen: I'm wondering the same as you ... am I the only one not stupid enough (or have parents stupid enough) to not put metal/stupid shit in the microwave? I mean come now, you don't put m80's in your car's tailpipe, so why would you put that kind of shit in the microwave? And how the FUCK do you "forget" to add water to Easy Mac? It's EASY MAC. Made IDIOTPROOF. I suppose they should change that to Idiot-resistant? |

Or old microwave was creating alots of "lighting" before we eventually throw it out. And we had no metal in it or anything. Yiffy Kitten, remember not everyone knows the basics of using the microwave. |

I've never had a problem with them. I put things in too long a few times but always caught it. Mine does blow air out around the door when it's on though, so I try to avoid it. Originally posted by Valcion If you read that post and proceed to look for the "+" link TWICE, you might be a junkie. |
