I finally found the secret way (key) for the yellow yoshi level on the SM World Star world map! You know the one where you have to jump in the lakitu guy's cloud and float up? I never knew how to do it, and now I do! I'm so proud. *pats herself on the back*

By the way, is beating the star world the way you get to the level at the very beginning of the game? Seems like I heard something like that once....

Well, the Star World has 5 levels, their exits only form a loop leading to the other Star World entrances (one of which is right next to Bowser's Castle) ... but there's one exception: the key in the last Star World level leads to the Special World That one has 8 levels, the first half of #5 is the intro level ...

Beating the Special World changes the overworld colors and turns Koopa shells into Mario faces (as well as a few other things) ...

When you beat the fifth star level (with the secret exit), you enter the eight-level Special World. One of the Special levels is the one that appears on the title screen.

EDIT: Drat, Acmlm beat me to it.

It makes pirhanas have a pumkin for a head and bullet bills be birds.

In the GBA, the goombas wear glasses after that, the pokeys become some weird thing that looks like half of a chainsaw, in addition to what was mentioned above.

I remember being so pissed off as a kid when I spent an entire night fighting through the Special World just to blink back to a different-hued Yoshi's Island

I almost forgot about what the special world does. That happens when you have played to many SMW hacks and then forget to play the orginal game.

I used to have trouble in the Special world as kid. But now I can pass every level with ease.

Don't forget the bonus: If you manage to sit around for 3 minues on the map screne you're treated to a remix of the SMB song.

I loved doing that.

*chuckles*

Wow, this is bringin' back the memories...

One of my friends is fully convinced that after you beat the Special World you can somehow get everything to change AGAIN- but I have no proof of that.

The Special World isn't too hard. Start playin' some of those hacked games, and THEN you'll have some fun. I've made levels with Lunar Magic that are definitely harder than those ones.

Well, considering you can simply make an impossible level with Lunar Magic, I think that's a given. ^-~

As for getting things to change again... You cannot, you can't even change it back to the old colours and enemies, however, you can do extra stuff on the GBA version, involving the Dragon Coins I believe.

So I've heard.

What I meant before was that I've made levels that were DEFINITELY harder than the Star World, but I've actually beaten them fair and square. I make sure that at least I can beat any level I dish out.

What's awesme is makin Yoshi's House a stage, and making the Switch Palaces decently hard areas that test you in different skills. THAT'S pretty cool...

My friend got to the special world and he showed it to me once.... is the last star level world the one with the falling platforms or the one with the yellow blocks? I didn't find a key on either of them, does anyone know where it is?

*squeals* At long last! The Special Levels! I found them. And the Tubular one sucks. Bad. All of a sudden, Mario is hard again.

But multicolored. And trippy. And fun.

Usually that's a problems with most hacks. A level that is very easy for the hacker becuse he made it can be tricky for someone who never played it.

That's why you should have some beta-testers. There is always someone who is bored.

Special World...

It was kind of a disappointment after beating Funky...

An irreversable discoloration of the map, and strange koopas?
