I wouldn't worry too much, Buddy. I got it on my first try. Knowing you, you should have little, if any, trouble. Just don't sweat it too much.

What womps for me, is that I'm so young for my grade (15 in 10th grade).

I can't sign up for drivers ed until september of next year, but...some of my classmates are already driving.

Jarukoth, thank ya . My only problem is that, in tense or high-stakes situations, my already nervous tendencies are exaggerated. If I can convince myself to relax, though, it should be alright .

Toxic, I was 15 throughout the entirety of the tenth grade. It certainly irked me when most of my friends got their licenses, and even moreso when the least eligible folks in my grade began to drive so early. But hey, being relatively young has its benefits, as well .

Talk about irresponsible.

Kids that get their liscences use their new vehicles to skip out on schools.

I'd love just to have the ability to drive to school every day, rather than walking a mile.

I mean, maybe if you bounce out of school once or twice...it's not that bad.

But every single day? Thats a bit over the top.

Cutting is one of the lesser automobile-related problems at my school, as far as I can see. The classes - and the parking lot, for that matter - are small enough that even a single departed student will be noticed. That's not to say that cutting isn't a problem, but that the presence and availability of cars don't seem to make too much of a difference.

It annoys me that people go 40 MPH in the parking lot when there are people around, or speed around with windows down and rap music all the way up. Not to further a stereotype, but when white kids (because there's very little else at my school) draw attention to themselves by cranking up Hot97 (the local rap station), it brings idiocy to levels I haven't seen elsewhere.

I'm going to be lazy and just link a pic of what my speedo looks like from a 4.5 on eBay... FYI: I've had the needle at about 4:00 before
4 reasons for bad mileage, in order of fuel cost:
1) Heavy foot
2) Timing chain stretch and possible valve seat wear
3) Fast driving (never go 1 tank without hitting 100 at least 2x...)... even worse when I floor it up the mountain road to my house at 80MPH
4) Mostly city - my trips are probably about 10mi avg round trip from school to home and back... A good deal spent at lights, stop and go, etc.

All of these (and more... like a high-output V8 and a 4700lb vehicle, stuff I can't change) add up to poor efficiency

Same on this side, only the larger problem is people peeling out every 4 seconds.
I haven't gone a day without some moron with his WIKD COOL CAR peeling out right next to me, trying to be cool.
