There was a time and place for everything. I can't believe that I'm actually craving users like Shroomy and Doomgaze again. Me and Shroomy didn't get along at all or even see eye to eye but damn he was an interesting character to post with. The only real lamer we had was pikawil and even now he looks like a regular Einstein compared to some people here. Surely the world couldn't have gotten that stupid that fast in the course of 2-3 years could it? If so, then where are we going to be in five years? Ugh. It pains the mind to think about it. | I certainly see what you mean Yiffy Kitten, but what do you propose? A zero tolerance policy, perhaps? Not to ridicule anyone or anything, but as far as rule enforcement goes, we still have to give people a certain amount of chances. Sure, we could always tighten up the rules around here, but that's about it. Besides, even if we do decide to do that, it may a be a bit too rough for current members to handle, and we will still have enough leeway to allow some lamers through. Truth be told, I didn't even notice most of the people you mentioned were gone until you brought it up. Kinda sad... |

| This is probably too obvious, but certain boards attract certain kinds of people. As long as this place is focused around Mario icons and banners and such, those people are liable to be immature. You'd need some kind of huge social cleansing to make things otherwise. I've been to boards where the mods engage in such activities... and either they're closed utopias or closed hellholes. Not the most desirable arrangement.. unless you're on the "in", of course. The best boards I've been to have had very libertarian modding policies. When humans are usless because machine can do the job better. there'd be no need for casheers, let the machine do it. no need for bankers, let the machine do it. no need for brainpower, cause computers will have brains and emotions. you won't need to pay a machine do to work, they won't bitch and complain, they won't quit their job. then we become the sit on our ass and watch TV and get fat society. it's a scary thought. think of the idea behind Matrix as a possibility. |
