They probably saw that one FOX special a few years back that was showing 'proof' that we never made it to the moon.

Whatever...the moon is unreachable, the world is flat, we're the center of the universe, and the sun burns out over Flagstaff, AZ everyday...sure...why not...

Ah, I didn't notice you shot down your own argument.

According to the second site, a satelite recieves 2500 rem/YEAR.

This is less than the first category listed on the first link you posted - about 0.285 rem/HOUR.

Good job genius!

Have a look at this. That page debunks many other Apollo hoax arguments.

Be sure to read this too.

This thread smells like a troll.

Wow, just wow.

Thanks for the proof Yiffy Kitten, the raditation levels have been the biggest argument the "We haven't been on the moon" people have used.

After this moon conspiracy, I heard conspiracies about an certain soccer match that never happened 1955. (that my grandfather went to... but he is related to the military and he is dead now... )

And how would it be faked? Seriously, if it was today it could be faked yes... but this is the 60's people, movies from that time have laughable effects.

Never seen the moon? Of course I've seen the moon, and I bet everyone else in this thread has too. From the planet which it is orbiting.

People have definitely been out in space. Where else would satellite TV come from? So I don't find it hard to believe that people have been on the moon.

EDIT: Yes, I know people aren't on the Earth's various artificial satellites as we speak. But how do you think the satellites GOT there in the first place?

What I meant by not seeing the moon is that no one here has seen the surface of the moon with their own eyes. No one has been there and walked around and seen the moon the way those astronauts did. Now, I've seen a moonrock with my own two eyes, and that's all the freaking proof I need.

A moon rock is just that, a rock. The moon is made up of the same stuff from Earth, what kind of proof is that?

Because, it's a "clean" rock. No bacteria existed on it in outer space beacause there's no life there. With no oxygen, there's no life, and documents from the clean rooms prove that there were no lifeforms of any kind on it upon initial examination, since then, of course, bacteria has developed on it. So there, irrefutable proof. And not only thet, everybody else has proof, so stop attacking what I say only.

Remember when the Death Star destroyed Alderaan in one fell swoop? That was bad....ass.

Some say that it never happened and that it was all a lie fabricated by the Empire. But the families of the people on Alderaan know better. Rest their souls.

I'm just gonna counter the various snippets I've seen so far. We didn't have tin foil, whoever told you that is a moron. You would need to have six feet of lead maybe to stay there, but passing through the Van Allen radiation belt at over 100,000 MPH is not the same as extended exposure.

To the guy who said there's no air on the moon, that's true, but the flag was only waving when the guy moved it. There is friction in space, you know.

That's actually all I saw when I scrolled down and hit the page three button to see if this had been resolved

There's also the fact that the Russians would've realized this and refuted it. They were the ones who really wanted America to have not made it there, you know; So they would be the ones to work and work and work to find it out.

I asked my science teacher why the flag waved once, she told me because there was friction in space, even thought there's no oxygen. So that solves the question of that little thing.

Yeah, the Empire is lying to us all the time. I had a brother on Alderaan. I know it's a conspiracy.

WOW you guys need to chill. Wait till Eyebarb reposts agueing all this and I am sorry to say it but you might feel like a whole bunch of dumbasses. People it doesn't matter how fast they went through it it took them to long they would have died from radiation. So please at least post replies that are readable. As for the flag if they dd as they said it wouldn't have unrolled it would have just sat there. Now don't be spaying all this shit out without thinking ahead. Oh satalites are in our atmoshere which blocks radiatoin.

Ninjets: I don't think you get it at all...

Read this or understand that "the radiation dosage per year is about 2500 rem, assuming one is shielded by 1 gr/cm-square of aluminum (about 1/8" thick plate)"

Then read This and understand:
5 rads (rems) of exposure takes 17.5 HOURS
20 rads takes 70 HOURS
50 rads takes 175 HOURS.

Radiation poisoning is cumulative, but saying 175 hours in space at 0.285 rads/hr is the same as 50 rads/hr is not true. It's always 0.285 rads/hr, which will not even cause damage due to "Long-term" exposure (IE: Moon colony)

If Eyebarb wants to make me feel like I'm a dumbass, he's going to have to do a lot better than this.
Satelites are NOT in our atmosphere. If you think they are, you didn't read where it says "elliptic orbit, 200 miles to 20000 miles" - at 200 miles, according to this page, the atmosphere is 1.2882773728333908e-19 times less dense than it is on the surface of Earth. At 20000 miles, it's so miniscule, it's basically 0.

WOW, you need to understand that we're trying to not only defend our nation and our intelligence, but show someone why he got suckered by (other) dumbasses into believing something so stupid as "We never landed on the moon."

Why did the flag move? Hmmm let's think about this one for a second, geniuses. If you have a complete vacuum on the Earth, where there is GRAVITY, with a feather inside it on the bottom, when you turn it over will it drop? Not only will it drop, it will literally drop like a rock as there is no air resistance to keep it from falling.

See, gravity is on the moon even if atmosphere is not. If you move something in an environment where there is gravity, it will move as well.

True. I knew there was no way a person could get radiation poisoning moving that fast through space. In a vaccum, where there is gravity, friction is low, but grevity more than accounts for it. This is why the flag moved. I also heard a rumor that there were little rods in the flag designed to make it move. Can anyone substantiate this?

No - the rods were put there to make it look like it was waving, but it doesn't actually wave, it's fixed - think of looking at a still shot of a waving flag.
