Hey everyone, I'm doin' a school project and for this project I need to find out what peoples' aspirations in life are. | Well I'm 20, and my aspirations change all the time. I really want to design jewellery and underwear. But the one thing I've been wanting to do for a while now is to start some sort of holiday home for GLBT kids. Somewhere for trans kids to meet, and for the parents too. I'd also want it to be like one of those refuges for women who've been involved with domestic violence, but for kids who suffer from homophobia from their immediate family. | |||

| since invading Bolima and become the Italian diplomat is out of the question.... 15, and I wanna be a game musician. I really look up to people like Koji Kondo and Nobuo Uematsu for getting as famous as they have for making such beatufil sounding music out of a game console...I hope to be able to acomplish similar feats What I want out of life? Big family would be nice...even if its not that big....2 kids...I'd settle for 1, two would be nice though...close in age..one boy, one girl. Though it wouldn't really matter how that came out. Loving wife...heh, yeah. | Ah, aspirations, four of those before a game and you don't really feel any sprains or bruises. Oh wait, wrong thing. Well, I'm 18, graduating HS this year. I have a few major goals in life. The most important one to me is to own my own business. I think that I would be good with that and I don't think I would have a fulfulling life working for someone else my entire life (not that there's anything wrong with that, it's just a personal preference). I'm planning on my business either being a game/software development studio, or a electrical systems/power management firm. I love games so that's why I'd want to have a software dev. business but I also am planning to major in Electrical Engineering along with Comp. Sci. so that would lend it self to power systems and energy. I really think something needs to be done about the current power distribution in the United States and having a consulting firm or something along that lines to develope new technologies for energy and different ways to implement current energy sources would be really important and worthwhile (sp? I guess that's why I'm not going to be an English major). So, those are my ambitions. | |||

Eh, don't listen to Jarukoth. I was in a creative writing class with him, and he was one of the top two or three in the class (if not number one  ).I'm a sixteen-year-old high school junior. A friend actually prompted me to put some thought into a 'Life Goals' list at one point, and I came up with eight things at the time. Some are dumb or irrelevant, one I have actually accomplished already (  ), but most are rather standard:- To make money through writing. Not necessarily enough money to entirely support myself, but enough to be considered moderately successful and, at least, above average. - To graduate college. - To have a successful marriage one my first attempt. That is, no divorces. - To remain a virgin until marriage. - To make enough money to completely support my parents in their old age. - To remain a faithful Christian until the day I die. Of the above, I'm fairly certain that I can accomplish the second. The third and forth will be told with time, though I'm confident in those, also. The last is something that I pray for every night. The first and fifth go hand in hand, I suppose; I'm hardly confident in my ability to fulfill them, but it would be nice. I know that an incredibly small number of aspiring novelists actually make it in the business, but with the Lord's grace I will somehow find my way into it .Edit: Cthulhu's comment directly below this post made me remember that I originally intended to compliment the thread starter. | (Geez, SS and I are similar)I am 16 and I want to: -Help people in some way(be a good Muslim) -Get married and have kids at a somewhat young age(25?) -Keep in touch with family and friends -Make more friends(I don't mean to brag, but it's easy for me to do) -Protect those whom I love. -Get a good job.(don't really care what it is.) Surgery looks good to me, good pay and I can help others. -Repay those who've done so much for me in some way. Farfetched goals: -End conflict in the Middle East, India, Pakistan, all over the world. -Unite all followers of Islam - show those who've led astray the right path.(like those people who say they're Muslims but don't act it.) -Pilot a Mobile Suit. -Have no more sadness in my life. This is sad, sometimes I wonder if it'd be less of a grievance(to me) for me to die before my parents, because I really cannot see them gone, they've done so much for me. | Age: 16 I want to be some type of designer. That's the only thing that really appeals to me. Like a graphic designer or interior design. Maybe some other type. I'm still trying to figure that out. I did want to be a music producer but I still haven't started to play my keyboard but I will. I just want to be successful and have a good marriage later on, sometime around 25. I want to graduate college (none of my parents have), graduate high school (my dad didn't), and umm..make enough money to really support my family. Eh, my aspirations will probably change but that's how they are at this point in time . |

| 18 Explore for a while then find some comfortable and non-mind-numbing niche to curl up in. I used to wanna be a writer, but I realised that 10% of all humans who have ever existed are alive right now, and therefore achieving significantly in any creative field of endeavour is damn near impossible irrespective of talent or lack thereof. The world is just too big and too anonymous. Also realising I am Not Very Good and My Ideas Have Already Occurred to Others kinda helped with this realisation. So I've adjusted to something a little less vague and teenage: -Finish Uni, get a degree in International Studies, because that's the place I have guaranteed (I deferred starting for a year) from last year's application -Get into either journalism or teaching history or maybe foreign aid work? -Perhaps have an apropriate and cliched period of angsty alcohol-fuelled self-destruction and/or a mid-twenties "what the hell am I doing?" type crisis along the way. There may or may not be a solo round-the-world backpacking adventure during this -Try really really hard to NOT start a family -Live overseas, perhaps indefinitely (edited by Arwon on 04-25-04 06:23 AM) |
