It's a bit technical, yes. But it reveals that Sony is _ILLEGALLY_ installing a trojan onto your computer if you attempt to play their music CDs on a Windows operating system. Long story short, what they're trying to claim as an anti-priacy movement is really a pro-piracy movement.

That's digusting. Bad enough that they install (and illegally at that) their crap, but it's not even coded well. And then they wonder why people pirate? Lesee, we can pay for a crippled CD that won't play in half our systems and fucks with any computer it's put into, or we can download the music, edit it if so desired, burn the tracks to CD in whatever order we want, and play it on anything. Or put a copy on our MP3 player, store it on the HD so we don't need to put the CD in every time (maybe we want to listen to music and play a game at the same time?), etc...

I've said it enough already, but that doesn't mean I intend to stop: DRM must die.

Man... I was already ticked off at Sony because their MP3 players are proprietary to their software. Down with Sony!

Wouldn't that plan fail if Autoplay were disabled?

Sure, but your favourite non-Sony media player isn't going to decrypt the music.

But they can rip it if they're nifty enough to be on Sourceforge and be named cdEX. Thanks, Switchfoot!

But yeah, Sony gets it up the ass with a railroad spike for this copy-protection scheme. And proprietary everything. But not the Katamari series, although they don't get credit for that as Namco pumped that creamy goodness out.
