| Noticing that his oppenent had cast a spell, but not knowing what type of spell was cast, Rad did the logical thing. He jumped into the air and whipped Chaos at Callean to test how he would react. | |||

| Callean had little time to respond to the hurled weapon. He raised his shield, but Chaos was not entirely blocked. The sword was deflected to a convenient gap in the knight's armor, scratching him minorly but painfully. Rad's weapon tumbled several feet away. The paladin's shield arm fell weak with sharp pain, but was shocked back into conciousness as Callean thrust his entire body into an attack at Rad's now-unprotected left side. Shield raised in a feint, Callean's longsword slashed fiercely in and moved to avoid a potential parry. [Out of character - My actions assume that, by "whipped," you mean that Rad has actually thrown the weapon at Callean. If it is otherwise, just let me know  .Also, my attack is intended for Rad's now-swordless hand; correct me if I've chosen the wrong one, that I might change it.] |

OOC: Yes, Rad threw the Keyblade. But he still has more tricks up his sleeve.  As Chaos hit the ground and Callean slashed at Rad's left side, the fallen Keyblade disappeared and reappeared in Rad's hand. Rad was able to smack the blow downwards, but only enough that the sword glanced along his thigh. Rad left his left leg momentarly give way and rolled to his left, away from Callean. "Smart attack. Then again, few people know of these blades or of their powers. One of those powers being that the blades can return to my hands with but a thought." Rad shifted his stance so that his right side was facing Callean, Chaos held at his side and Excalibur in a blocking position. |

| His helmet completely obscuring his face, Callean frowned to himself and grunted, dismayed at Rad's clever tactics. The paladin finally realized the skill of his opponent, and resolved to act with more caution. Carefully (but with some measure of power nonetheless), he advanced and attempted to push his adversary's defending weapon out of the way with his shield. If a sufficient opening became available from the maneuver, the knight's blade was in good striking position. |

| Rad simply stepped backwards as Callean neared him, bringing himself to the edge of the top of the spire. He calmly placed himself halfway off the edge of the spire and started to charge magic as he waited to see what his oponent would do. First time using this spell, hope it works. |

| Not near enough to disrupt his adversary's incantation, Callean hoped to shield himself from whatever the effects might be: the knight touched his inconspicuous shield-shaped ring, and its magic was instantly released. The paladin's shield exploded in color and vibrancy, the unremarkable silver-and-white arms flashing all colors of the rainbow. It clanged metalically, though no other object contacted it. Callean felt the shield become lighter and more maneuverable on his arm. The power of his armor unleashed, Callean braced himself for an attack, but did little more. |

| Rad, however, simply stood there, tetering on the edge of the spire. His spell was fully charged, he now waited for a good time to use it. Needs to be a bit closer for this to work. |

| Quite aware that his opponent had some powerful magic in reserve, Callean still made no move to strike. The enchantment on his shield was not in danger of wearing away in the near future, so he squared himself and stood with confidence. | |||

| "For such a treacherous cretin," spat Callean, his voice heard clearly through his helmet, "...you certainly put much faith in the Lord!" His symbol glowing slightly yet visibly, the paladin charged forth with sword raised and shield outstreched. He took a rather uncontrolled swing at Rad. | |||

| Rad simply stepped backwards to avoid the swing. As he began to fall and his head passed the height of Callean's feet, he muttered, "Float," using the magic he had charged up. His fall slowed dramaticly, he slammed both Keyblades into the side of the spire and cried out, "Crush Punch!" A spike of earth shot out from under Callean upwards, reaching a total of seven feet in height. OOC: Crush Punch is a holy attack in with a spike of earth shoots from the ground before falling back to the earth. It has a 25% of adding Dead on a good hit. |

| The surprised paladin was launched several feet above the height the spike initially propelled him, and fell heavily back to the rocky surface. He stood slowly, now several feet from the spire's edge and his opponent, and stammered, "Your magics are mighty, dark one." With a show of bravado, he willed himself to ignore the fact that his chest and neck ached and shouted, "Now, match steel with this holy knight!" | |||

| Having landed safely on the pathway around the outside of the spire, Rad began to make his way back up the spire. Upon hearing Callean call out, Rad pulled an Elixer from his robes and whipped it the fifty feet up to the top of the spire. | |||

| [Out of character - I see .] Several moments passed, and Callean witnessed no explosion or other cataclysm centered on the thrown object. He approached the spot where he'd heard the sound from, and grabbed the innocuous-looking bottle that had been tossed by Rad. Etched into the side of the small vial were rather simple runes. Callean recognized them as holy marks of healing. He hardly trusted his opponent after the sudden treachery, but the knight had had a good feeling about his adversary before the battle began; somewhat confused by Rad's intentions, the paladin simply placed the full vial in a vacant slot on his belt. Callean heard footsteps, and he readied himself to continue the fight. |

| Rad returned to the top of the spire, where he faced Callean. Rad shifted to a neutral stance, ready for either defence or attack, and waited. If he doesn't attack me for a bit of time, and shows me, therefore, that he isn't out for blood, I might explain why I attacked him. |

| Taking advantage of the considerable distance between himself and his opponent, Callean relaxed for a moment and called out, "Treacherous one, what foul liquid fills this fatal vial?" The knight pulled the Elixer from his belt and held it up. He still made no move to even prepare for an attack. |
