It's the lack of desency in this community. Disch, Sukasa, face it. These are the kind of things that this community values. Real work, innovation, skill, difficulty, don't mean anything any more. That's what ROM editors do for you. And Gavin, about your last comment, I can't take any insult serious from someone with such a stupid name. Practice your reding comprehension more. |

I did see the transparent Megaman hack, and just replied for the sake of being nice, but then I noticed the Transparent Mario being stickied. I expected someone with balls like you to step up and confront us with this. Seriously, all his hacks are just graphic hacks. Not even good ones. While all the worthwhile hacks are ignored, this innovative masterpiece of a romhack gets all the praise it deserves for the hard, strenuous work that was put into it. You're no asshole, Disch. I have seen only one other GBA hack that touches audio. It's also very rare to see a GBA hack at all. It would make my day to see someone take Sonic Advance 3 and make a completely new level. Actually, you... ah, didn't say much of ANYTHING in that thread, besides "you guyyyyys, get off my back for this hack's immature humor!" More recent history? I made a hack of Knuckles Chaotix. I'm the only fucking person to make a hack of a game for so obscure a system. I'm one of the only people to touch audio in a GBA game. Newtrogic High Zone got 0 replies. Everyone bashed the shit out of Sonic Advance 3: Extreem Manseckz. But eveyone's really looking forward to that kid's simple graphic hacks. | Ok! I'll add my 50 cents. I see many posts here of people that are frustrated about the fact that their thread about their (often great) hacks didn't get much attention while the transparant Mario one did. Although I get where the frustration comes from, I think you should just accept that that's the way how it works. Do ever the best games really win the award for "best game of the year"? In ROM hacking it's no difference. Some hacks just get on the wave of a hype and get much more attention than other hacks, take Mario Adventure for example or anything else DD releases. I for myself can't be frustrated at all if the thread about Epic Racers doesn't get much attention (it does get attention though). After all, I'm making this hack with Stifu since I like creating games not to show off to the rest of the world how good I am. Some of you seem to have an ego problem. Get over it, support the hacks you like, give some advice to make them better. Don't start falling all over somebody who made a transparant hack in few hours but get's lots of praise. His luck. Actually, I for myself liked the looks of that transparant Mario too. This is just my opinion, feel free to express yours.  |

| I seriously think that if you really do put a ton of effort into your hack and you have something extremely fun to play and well put together, it will definitely get noticed. I mean, all the really great hackers around here: BMF, peter_ac, DD, JJ, etc do get enough attention around here, and just because one pretty effortless hack got some attention is nothing to go completely crazy over. I certainly don't think it deserves as much attention as it's getting, but I think the stickyness of the thread might be attracting people to it, and the fact the DD decided to do this might make people trust his judgement. My final point being... Great hacks most of the time will get their well deserved attention. I seriously don't know why a lot of people have enjoyed SMB Transparent, but when something much better comes along it will definitely blow it out of the water.
