Its that time of year again!
Permanent Fund Dividend for Alaskans!
What is a PFD, you may ask?
Its the yearly allowance given to Alaskans just because we survived another freezing cold year. The fund is steadily declining, and it only came $845 dollars per person, a far cry from what it was 10 years ago. Who's complaining, though?

Anyways, I took $100 from it and the rest shall go into my fund for higher education.

Lots of different states/places have variations of the PFD, like the lottery in California. What does your state/place do for free money?

The Lottery in California? Wtf are you talking about, the Lotto only goes to one person.
Unless you count tax returns, I can't think of anything...

Yeah, I wish we all won something from the lotto.

Um... closest thing for me would be a GST check that I get from the government every three months because I'm a student/something like that. Only $56 a check but better than nothing.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

The only people that get free money in WA are lottery winners, plaintiffs in frivolous lawsuits, and just about anyone that claims they do something remotely related to politics.

I get Grants for college..that's it though. My dad's taking half of it

Bah, Alaska. Why would anyone pay you to live down there, it makes no sense? I mean, I could understand the need for populating the cold northern areas, and paying me if I moved further north, but I don't see why I should be paid any money for actually moving southwards...

I know it only goes to one person, but its still free money to citizens, even if its only one at a time.

Well, the person who would win the lottery has to pay for the ticket so they have to give the money to the lottery fund so it's technically not free.

Is it really cold there and stuff like in Alaska? You'd have to pay me to live in Alaska but I'd visit . So I guess they have a reason to keep the residents there =P.

In California, land values skyrocket. Thus, if you're a long time land owner, there's your free money.

Wait a second, you're calling the people in the Swedish government, the Social-Democrats, "fucking morons", yet you're still complaining that they're not giving out government handouts... Sooooooooo, you're saying you're not happy with the Social-Democrats because you're not getting money from them... Riiiight, I am teh confused.

Wow, add a reason to my list of reasons to move to Alaska. That makes 2: Great skiing and free money. As opposed to the 5,002 reasons to not live there.

Thats how I feel most of the time.
I can't legally move out of my parent's house yet, so I guess I'm stuck here for a while though.

Might as well enjoy the snow and weird times with the sun as much as you can . I know I wouldn't want to move there, despite them paying me that much money. Pay me that much a month and we'll see what's poppin'.
