Everything depends:
So, burning a boot disc won't help if your ps2 can't play backups. if you really want to boot the disc, then you have to have a modchip installed and then, depending in the modchip brand, you must burn it in the supported media for it, but it would make no sense since with a modchip you can play backups without boot discs I hope it helps |

Say, I've been waiting to get my hands on a ps2 modschip. but there's so much versions available.. that I don't know which one to choose. You who seem to know what you're talking about, what's the best chip to get? I'm specifically looking for one that plays imports without problems..

If you want the BEST (but also the most expensive) you can get a matrix infinity or a DMS4. A good choice would be to choose a mars pro modchip, that chip will play imports made on cdr's and dvdr's. Here are the specs PS: I don't know if it's ok to post prices here, but i won't so as to not getting in problems. Spoiler: The page has the price of it, but it's in £ |

What type of PS2 do you have? Ours is one of the big boxy older models. We got a flip top case and a Swap Magic disc. It will now boot anything (assuming that its laser is behaving itself), and we didn't need to do any soldering. The flip top makes swapping very easy and convenient.

Sorry, I know nothing about case mods for the newer PS2's, assuming they even exist. I just figured I'd mention the flip top in case it helped anyone. |
