I need a tile editor to import a picture of lugies head. ExGFX are new to me and still don't really know how to get them into the game so they aren't glitched. I have looked in the Lunar Magic help file but it tells me stuff about 3bpp and 4bpp and that there should be an option under the "options" heading. I have the newest LM and it isn't there. Anyway can some one help me. Thanks |

use yy_chr NEVER EVER use tlp, it sucks compared to yy_chr. To do the head thing, just open the SMW or SMAS (if you want teh SMAS head ) rom in yy_chr, then you have to search through the graphics until you find his head. It requires patience, and it consumes some time. When you findhis head, hold the right button of your mouse and move the green square thing over the head. Go to edit, then choose 'copy'. Extract the graphics from your rom by clicking the red mushroom then choose the bin that contains Luigi's unmodified head. When you find it, hold the right button of your mouse and move the green square over the head until it covers it entirely. When you cover it entirely, go to edit and choose 'paste'. And, voil (edited by Aioria on 04-17-04 11:25 PM) |

okay I have been using YY-CHR but when I open my ROM up it gives me garbled GFX. The ROM I am using isn't garbled. Does the ROM have to be the ORIGINAL ROM??

You have to set it to SNES or SNES 3BPP. I don't know which.

This is what is happening to me when I use YY-CHR: This is the screen that pops up when I open YY-CHR And this is the screen that pops up when I load up my ROM. Know why this happens? |

To edit SMW's grapics, you don't open the rom but instead you open Lunar Magic's extracted grapics (allgfx.bin, i think. it's ages since i hacked smw last) you will have to set it to SNES mode when opening the .bin files |

I'd also go rather with editing the small extracted .bin files or the AllGFX.bin for graphics and one existing (resized to the smallest size) .bin file yor one ExGFX file. Editing the plain ROM gives more disadvantage ... and afaik the ExGFX even are not accessible that way As for YY-CHR, it kicks ass generally, but it tends to mess up ExGFX files when edited them in YY-CHR. |

I get the BCB cd next wek and I will fix some bugs in the last version coze I failed to convert and assemble in masm. I made an option to join and split back after editing the exgfx files extracted by LM. This is bugy when you use random numbers for the .bin files ... (edited by orynider on 04-23-04 11:08 AM) |
