This turns Legend of Zelda, The (U) (PRG 1).nes into Legend of Zelda 2005 Special Edition.nes

I did a little minor hex editing to change the inventory text and make it fit with the items. I also recolored many of the dungeons so that they all have a distinct look (not half of them are green anymore)

The graphics are a combination of the best of the best graphical updates (mostly from gameboy Zeldas) from various hacks and some of my own work (updating bosses, overworld graphics, etc.). Other than the waterfall graphics on the title screen, most everything is new.

I may very well give this a whirl, although I will more than likely change some things more to my taste. For instance, those door graphics of yours for the dungeon don't fit. It looks as if theres just some random block inside of the door, magically lit up where it should be shadowed. Some of the Lttp graphics look very out of place. Like the overworld rocks (the rockwalls themselves look great). I've honestly never been a huge fan of GB link graphics outside of the GB, so I guess I should apologize for the bias. It doesn't feel like it should be used in zelda 1, imo.

Oh, and to forestall any trouble, those changes that I would make would be for myself and no one else, really (meaning I wouldn't distribute a changed version of your hack without at the very least your permission to do so). I like to personalize hacks like that sometimes.

I hear where you're coming from. that is basically what I have been doing, take good work (in this case Zelda DX) and change it to what I think is a more polished state,

Well, I finally got around to playing this gfx hack, (Thank goodness for walkthroughs ya know) I finished level 3 and I like what I see so far. Fix the doors, and Link's palette, that's pretty much it with me.

If I'd ever hack this game, I'd use this version instead of the original.
