Now, the choice is simple. You're right, or you're wrong. I always pronounced it the right way, and I assumed everyone else did too. Then my friend was talking about it and he was all "Zeebz" and I was all wtf so I beat the shit out of him and took his lunch money. But he kept pronouncing it wrong. So then I figured maybe there's no "right" pronounciation, just different ones. Then I snapped out of it and realized some people just have it wrong.

Are you one of these people? I'm curious.

Zee Beez(s) sounds fine, as does Zee Behz (which is closer to the Japanese, that I believe is Zebeth). I say either one, they both sound fine.

The bigger question is how do you pronounce SR388?

Is it S R Three Eight Eight, or is it S R Three Eighty Eight? It's one of those two. You can hear the computer at the end of Metroid Fusion say it. But it's quite quiet and not too easy to make out. I think it's eighty eight, though.

You can say Three Hundred and Eighty Eight. It's a number.

I think in the case of a string of letters and numbers, it's a matter of personal preference. I say "three eighty-eight," but that's more of a shortening of "three hundred eighty-eight" than anything else.

Zebes, on the other hand, is not "Z E B E S" but a name that is to be pronounced. Sure, it's translated, so it's all speculation anyway, but... I lost my train of thought.

And if I'm not mistaken, "Zebes" and "Zebeth" are both equally valid translations from Japanese; there was some confusion at first but they stuck with Zebes. The same thing can be seen with Aeris/Aerith in FF7. (Or about FF7, since I don't think it's spelled Aerith anywhere in the game, but some people spell it that way)

Zebes

I don't like the way ZEE BEEZ sounds. Thus, I would pronounces it Zehbz. It just makes more phonetic sense

I've always know it as "Zeh Beez"... The one that nobody chose, and that everybody thinks it's wrong... Then again, I've only known the name "Zebes" for about a yeah and a half now, the shame ...

There's only one way to solve this argument... I don't know if it's actually been done... But if they put voice acting on the game, and said it themselves... Then one of us (namely me ) could walk out of this thread laughing at the others ...

I MEANT to hit Zee Behz. Though even that isn't exactly correct as its more like Zee Behs. I accidentally hit Zeh Behz.

I pronounce it ZeeBs (like dweebs except with a Z instead of DW) and I'm probably bigger than you so i say that's the correct way to pronounce it.
