I have the Microsoft Intellimouse Optical (almost the cheapest one) and for some reason, when I try to bind the side-keys in the game, it doesn't recognize them. It should be Mouse4 and Mouse 5, but it won't do it. I've installed the damned software to see if that'd help, and of course it didn't. If anyone has any ideas, please say so |

It probably doesn't support mice with insane amounts of buttons. | |||

Sometimes you can get external programs to map the mouse button to keyboard keys. Then just set the things you want the mouse buttons to do to some out of the way keys and map 4 and 5 to those. That should work. |

Use IntelliPoint software version 4.12, that's what I use and it works in NEARLY every game. There are SOME older games and/or poorly supported games which they don't work in, but they work in nearly all for me. What game(s) do they not work in for you? If it doesn't work in UT2K4, keep in mind... They MUST be assigned to "Forward" and "Back" in the driver to work in games - this is why I use version 4.12, it can have program-specific settings, where my middle mouse button outside of games is double-click, and within them, it's the default "Auto-Scroll". Versions less than 4.12 don't have it, and Version 5 didn't either, so I went back to 4.12. (edited by Yiffy Kitten on 04-17-04 11:08 PM) |
