Can anybody help me with this math question? Why the ratio of a surface area of a sphere is not the same as the ratio of the volume of a sphere.. I can't seem to figure this out! Thanks. |

Volume is cubed, surface area is squared. It follows, thus, that volume will increase much faster than surface area. | |||

I figured it was something like that, I just needed to be reassured... Thank you for helping me out! It's most appreciated. edit: fine then I will keep it here another question. This kinda makes sense, but ill ask anyway heres the question Jason uses the displacement method to determine the volume of a ball bearing, if the ball bearing displaces 83 mL of water, what is the volume of the ball bearing in Cubic centimetres? well what I know is the volume of the water displaced is equal to the volume of the ball bearing, which is 83 mL, but I need to get that into cubic centimetres, which is the problem, IIRC 1mL is equal to 1 cubic centimetre. anyone think they can help me here. Although this problem doesn't really need it, when you're going from one unit to another, it's best to use a conversion ratio:
