A friend of mine has decided to base our friendship on honesty. Yesterday, I was completely honest and told her my opinion on something she was having trouble with. She got really mad at me. I had tried lying to her in the past, but she would just get mad at me. Any suggestions on how I should handle this? (Sorry. I guess the english I learned in my English classes at school is not the English you are used to. I tried to make it sound more clear this time, by using small words and no onomatopoeia.) |

You should be honest, but it's how you say it that makes a difference. You have to make sure that if you tell her something she's not going to like, you do it gently. Explain to her that you're going to be honest with her even though she may not like what you're going to say, and you're going to tell her because you care. There's a big difference between saying something like: "Woah that girl is so hot, I want to nail her right now." and "She's really pretty today, I really like her." ~Delial |

Honesty may be good, but it kills. I lost a friend because I told the truth. Really pushed it. But it's better to tell the truth, and stuff. Explain that your not trying to be critical, and sometimes the truth may hurt...but don't say it stupid like..."You're not looking that good today, but hey, the truth hurts" or something similar to that. Try to make it easy and nice. Stuff that may seem bad, but truthful may even come out nicely. |

Tell the truth unless you are being forced not to... and the only time that happens is when your life is in danger over that... Maybe if you remind this friend about the agreement you made, it'll work out better... |

Hmm... That reminds me of a french stand up comedian who explained how being honest is the worst thing you could ever do in a marriage I'm sorry if it sounds sexist, but with women, you just CAN'T be honest 100% of the time. It would be folly! If it's something critical that absolutely needs to be said about your relationship, it's probably better to talk about it -- it has to be so important that whether the relationship continues is based on it. Otherwise if it has the potential to make things bad, it's probably not a good idea to talk about it, and find an answer to your problem otherwise. As for the actual question, which nobody answered yet It all depends on what happened really... Maybe if you detailed it more, it would help us help you out. If you got in a fight and are not "talking" to each other anymore, you need some kind of ice breaker -- flowers would be cool and super gentlemanish if you need to apologize |

Well, honesty is working out now. I am being honest, just choosing my words a little better.

Originally posted by Kario Dude, "honesty" is Womanese for "STFU and say what I want to hear." You got played, man. Judge a woman not by her words but by her actions. Clearly she doesn't want honesty. Womanese is a difficult language to master. At the risk of being lynched by feminazis, women often say the opposite of what they mean. That is the key to understanding Womanese. |

My friend and I have a completley honest relationship. She lies a lot to others, but with me she's honest. This is because other girls are a bunch of backstabbing bitches that are only looking out for number one. She knows that a dude won't tell her buisness, but a girl will. I dunno if this a rarity or what, but it seems like all girls lie to each other a LOT.

Teenage girls DO lie to each other a LOT, at least from what I know. They lie to ME a lot, too... Honesty is a policy I'm strong about. I try my very hardest not to lie...But my family does in many cases, often about things that shouldn't be a big deal... I'm still trying to a find a girl I can be honest to who will be the same way back...So far I've met two, and both have lied to me quite nastily and struck me down with no real good reasons at all... I have been getting th ehang of Womanese. And I'll tell you this- any girl who speaks Womanese as their main language is no girl for me. And believe me, not all of them speak it. THAT PROBLEM, eh? I actually don't know what you mean by that...ehhh...' |

Womanese is a bad thing. They use it secretly to talk about us behind our backs or sometimes in plain sight. Seems like they're also capable of communicating much faster than us as well. |
