Explain to me why you think people shouldn't care, and I'll explain why people should.

It's in the human nature to care when someone dies.

People like our not-understanding friend Samurai who, not understanding, prolly doesn't care about other people's death at all.

At least not consciously.

Little thing called love.

Though really, I don't care when people I don't know die.

Because people feel compassion and sympathy. And have hearts.

Most people.

It's "proper" or traditional in most cases. I guess to be polite or to console others. There are numerous reasons that I wouldn't want to name... too lazy.

Let me just throw this out on the table:

Let's say you're walking through a highly urbanized part of town at night. Suddenly, you hear what sounds like a small child crying. Upon peering into a nearby alleyway, you see a little boy weeping over the body of a middle aged man, which is lying in the alley. From the looks of things, the man looks quite dead. The clothes on the body and the child are rather ill kept, and look like they haven't been changed in some time. You do not know, nor have you ever known, the man or the little boy, nor about the relationship between the two. All you know is that the man is dead, and judging by the sobbing coming from the boy, they seemed to be close.

How do you feel?

Its obvious to care if someone you knew and loved passed on, but sometimes the reason for caring if someone you don't know dies probably differs. If its a famous celebrity, then the person might've liked their work or something.

Wow.

SamuraiX strikes again, with his hammer of sociopathability.

Basically, if you remotely know the person, or a person that knew him/her, you'd HAVE to feel something (unless you were the guy who killed him ).

Happiness or guilt depending on what type of personality the guy who killed someone had.

There's some crazy mass murders who like feel NO EMOTION when they kill people though... Like that one guy in Kansas who strangled everyone and they caught him and he told about every incident in a monotonous tone. No emotion! Scary!

All humans care when people die . . it IS in the human nature. You would care more if your own family member died, but if you saw a girl who got shot, you would probably feel more sorry for the parents. You feel what others feel . . and thats why it's sad.
