A cat is not really a rabbit, but go ahead, I guess.

Your kittie no like dee pictures!

Never had a rabbit but I have a poster of one.. its a cute poster and rabbits are cute as well.

I can't picture a cat eating a rabbit. It must have been a big cat or a small rabbit..something like that.

You might be surprised what cats can take down. My aunt has an indoor/outdoor cat named Buster who has brought her rabbits on occasion. That cat's hunting ability is legendary.

Back on topic...Rando and I have a pair of cats, and that's it for pets. Chester and Cookie are brother and sister, and we adopted them three years ago from Skiffles. Here's a recent picture of them on their 3' platform. Rando bought it for them and didn't know of any good place to put it, so he stuck it in the living room temporarily, and they seem to like it there (they frequently sit on it and scratch it - sometimes they even scratch simultaneously), so we didn't move it. The tree you see in the background is at least 6'. They like to stand on the top shelf and meow at the ceiling. Oh, and Cookie has dirty mittens from rummaging around in the basement. It happens sometimes.

I've seen rabbits in person and they're cute, but I don't think I would want to adopt one. Rabbit-proofing worries me because we have tons of electronics and rabbits instinctively chew anything and everything. One oversight and the poor creature would Darwinize itself. Also, any animal that needs multiple hours of highly supervised time each day isn't for me (which is, incidentally, why I'm not getting a ferret, either - they're adorable, like long slinky cats, but they're so much work). We had to "babysit" the cats when they were small and being let outside of their safe room, but now they're quite low maintenance. Basic cat care is extremely easy (even the nail trimming part - both of them will sit still in my arms while Rando clips their front claws) and doesn't take very much time on a daily basis. Because we have two who get along well, they play together, so they don't require as much interactive play as cats without friends to rampage around the house with. Sure, they get into things and you have to get them to focus on something else instead, but that's not difficult to deal with.

You're lucky. My cat hates being picked up. Makes flea collar changing a bit difficult. We don't really trim her nails, though, she takes care of them by scratching up a chunk of carpet nobody cares about. She's a strange cat; she'll pretty much let me do whatever I want with her, and comes up and sleeps on my bed next to me pretty much every night, but she just plain will not let you hold her. She just squirms to get away the whole time. Even if you just set her on your lap she jumps off right away. But she's otherwise very trusting... of course that's only after she gets to know you, and she must always sniff your hand before you can touch her. She's a big scaredy cat when it comes to strangers.

Oh yes, and she greets me when she comes into my room. And sometimes she makes this weird kinda noise, like she meows without opening her mouth, and purrs at the same time so it's a really heavily modulated sound... anyone else's cat do that?

I haven't seen or petted any ferret I should.

Does your cat kind of make a purring sound instead of meowing? Mine does that, she's weirdo. She doesnt like being held but you can at least hold her on your shoulder for awhile before she squirms away. I clip my cats nails with a regular nail clipper but once I cut them too short and it kind of bled

Perhaps, but from Reid has described, your ferrets shit everywhere. I'd much rather have my rabbit who goes in a litter pan without any trouble.

Huh? Poor bunny. How long did it take you to get through that sorrow?

I alaways let cats sniff my hand before I pet them. That way they´ll recognize me the next time I hold my hand in front of them.

My neighbors next door has a cat and it´s starting to like me.

Rydain: Your cats are so freakin' cute!

Taryn: Charcoal is a cute name, indeed.

I´ve never had a rabbit and I don´t think I would either.

I know a friend who have a chihuahua, sometimes when they're out for a walk cats take intrest... I can't blame the cats as you can confuse him for a rodent.

My cousin had a rabbit, but it was killed and taken by a fox I heard. They live in the middle of the forest. :/

I can't blame cats really, as it's part of their instincts. Besides we're an hunting species ourself so... uh yeah.

I actually don't own a cat (and I can't, I live in a dorm where pets aren't allowed) but I did grown up with dogs. I could try to upload a picture or two, as this is turning into a "my pets" thread.

Pets in general seems to like me, but then it's probably how I approch them too. Or maybe it's how I smell... or something strange like that.

I also used to have two guinea pigs, but the first one died for two-three years ago and the other one died for six months ago. They're were 6-8 years old, and that's rather old for a guinea pig too...

We don't have any rabbits, but my sister somewhat recently got herself a couple of hamsters. It's a male and a female, and they're both all black. And once my sister decided to let the male into the female's cage, so now they have kids. I think there's about 5 or 6 of them.

We also have a dog, a Tibetanian Spaniel. We've had him for a bit more than two years. (This is the most recent picture I have uploaded of our dog.)

This is my cat back home. Unfortunately, you can't have a pet in college. This thread actually makes me miss having something around that's fuzzy and barks or meows...

...and breathes. Virtual pets don't count.
