Is there any way to get ZSNES to display a screen that's exactly three (or ant other integer) times the size of the basic screen? With SNES9x you can do this easily and have a nice crisp screen with all the pixels lining up nicely.

OTOH, ZSNES' save state management, with the little preview screens, is tops. Wish SNES9x would implement that.

ZSNES has frozen my computer several times in just three days of use, whereas I've used SNES9x for years without a problem.

Also -- and this is inexcusable -- ZSNES uses some non-standard bitmap fonts for menus and directories. Heaven forbid you should be running a PC with non-Roman characters, which appear fine in S9X but not in ZSNES. You won't be able to find your files!

I have this same problem. It's really annoying. I also don't think ZSNES can display a different screen size accurately.

ZSNES actually seems to crash for me time to time, especially when i'm loading games.

And usually certain games to... hmm. Starfox likes to crash for some reason if I have been playing anything else before...

Of course, I play alot of netplay. Which requires me to have the same version as everywhere else...

Despite, the latest version of Zsnes was released years ago. (expect for the WIP versions , which aren't good for netplay...)

This is a difficult one.

I had always used ZSNES, but that was because my PC was old and Snes9X didn't run fast enough. After I "switched" computers to a new and powerful one, things changed.

ZSNES was starting to be obsolete. I mean, Snes9X has everything what I needed, excellent speed, compatibility, user friendly, etc., plus I like Windows based programs. But, the big Snes9X problem it's the lack in customization which make me switch to ZSNES sometimes. For example, I don't like TAB button to be the Turbo button, I like ZSNES because it lets me configure it (I like to use the space bar).

Both are almost the same as good as the other.

What this means?
ZSNES = Old PCs.
Snes9X = New PCs.
ZSNES & Snes9X = Whatever YOU want!

Zsnes has the sweetest GUI of any emu out there, and also tends to run with a more consistent frame rate, for me anyway. ZSNES! zsnes extreme, preferably.

You do realize that there's a Windows-based version of ZSNES, right?

ZSNES is more widely known and used for online gaming as well...I mean zbattle.net...you think that works with SNES9x...or even z-net?
