I was just wondering about New Years Resolutions before, and thinking about my own, and how this is one of the first years I've actually gotten somewhere with a New Years Resolution rather than ignoring it.

Most years, I make a New Year's Resolution at the start of the year. Within a week, it's usually forgotten about and then I don't think about New Years Resolutions again until... well.... New Years!

This year, my resolution was to lose weight.

At the start of this year, I weighed 88kg (193.6 lbs).
Now I weigh 76kg (167.2 lbs)
I lost 12kg (26.4 lbs)

YAY ME! I'm still losing weight too, I intend to lose quite a bit more, but I'm not in any hurry... I'll take it niiice and easy. Hell, I didn't start my resolution till halfway through the year.

So, anyways, how are YOUR New Years Resolutions going? Did you just forget about them?

IMO, I did it well

Lets see..
I had a few. I wanted to lose some weight and improve my grades.. first semester last year I didn't do too hot.
I did get my grades up second semester, so I guess I reached that resolution. And I'm going to work hard to do well again this year.
As for losing weight..
I guess I'm not really bad, just a few noticable pounds that I'd like gone. There are definitely worse situations than mine.
I'm none too pleased with myself this year for many reasons, but I'm really hoping things will improve.

Tee hee you guys
Tarale, it's great to hear you kept up with your resolution, especially with something like that. That's the sort of thing so many people plan to work on, yet so few do anything about it.

I don't remember ever making a resolution this year. I just know in past years all of my resolutions have gone nowhere.
I'd like to see past resolutions I've posted here, I know I've done it once before.. bleh.

He's not kidding, you should see his school pictures. There's no way it's that big normally without some help.

All I really wanted to do was get rid of the bit of padding I had put on during my one month fall bulk. (When you're no longer a bodybuilding beginner, you can't gain muscle and lose fat at the same time. You need to do one or the other. I was dealing with upper body injuries, but I could squat heavy, and that's really enough to stimulate muscle growth, so I figured I would eat a lot to help myself heal and put on some muscle at the same time. Fat inevitably comes along for the ride, but you can diet it off later without losing too much of the new muscle mass) I did that, and now I'm a bit heavier on the scale but with the same hip measurement that I had last summer. (My hips are where I carry most of my fat, so it's a good place to measure for a general idea of how much I'm carrying.) The aforementioned upper body injuries are much better now, too.

Edit - Tarale, congratulations on your loss of bodyfat. Great job!

I haven't made any resolutions in about 4 or 5 years, which ironically is the year I finished high school. Although I'm getting ideas for resolutions next year...

I'm somewhat like Lenophis. I rarely have ever made any resolutions though. I usually make short-term goals over the course of two to four week periods and set out to accomplish those and it works pretty well I think.

I never really bother to make them. If I ever wanted to set a long-term goal for myself, I wouldn't wait for New Years... Or would I? *Dramatic Music*

Mine was to get a job.

I did. It sucks. But I did. My other one, which goes in the "Wishful Thinking" list, was to try to be a friendlier person.

I try to be nice to people, but they're so damn stupid sometimes...

Lets see..::checks old thread::

I actually made those resolutions and raised my GPA and got an A in spanish. So I maintained good grades. The losing weight thing..I'll work on this next year or when I can get a gym membership and afford healthy food. Voicing my opinion more..eh a little better. I had this other one to get this guy to like me..I guess he thought I was cute but that's good enough .

I get told I'm too nice, and that people take advantage of me because of it. I need to learn to be a bitch.

I think Im too nice I can't let people step all over me. I don't exactly let people do that but just the taking advantage of me part needs to stop. I need to learn how to be one too .

I didn't get a job..not yet. I tried..and I still am. Nobody wants me . I'll FIND one!

No, we can't have that. You must be nice, otherwise this place is even less fun. So please, for the children, keep being nice?
