Twilight Princess is supposed to be the last Zelda game as we know it.

Do you think Nintendo will just redo the forumula or stop making Zelda games?

Nintendo will probably end up making it into what Mario games have recently become.

Random sports/puzzle/whatever else they can fit in games, with a horrible new game/remakes all over.

A Zelda RPG might be very, very interesting if done well.

Probably a way of Miyamoto saying they're going to change the way Zelda games are done with the new systems.

If they could take Zelda II elements and fuse them with 3D... levelling up and that... it could be interesting, yes.

Miyamoto is gonna retire!!!111!!111!!111

Seriously, it can be a good thing too. As long it dosen't turn into Link II.

...and there is talk about Mario 128 yet again. It's sorta became Duke Nukem forever all over again. Then, that's might be why Nintendo hadn't shown anything.

Zelda II was awesome. But what about a full-fledged RPG?

Miyamoto said to give them the benefit of the doubt, and to be perfectly honest, I think I will. I have always had my faith in Nintendo, they were my first gameing system ever and I've always had a softspot for their stuff. I'm not worried about this at all--I know Miyamoto won't let a fan of 12 years down.

We had three main overhead-view Zelda games (not counting Gameboy), and we have four third-person view Zelda games. What will they think of next? First-person Zelda? Zelda from the point of view of the sword? I don't know! Ahh!

That's a cool idea. It'd still be fitting with the Zelda series.

Much more so than, say, Legend of Zelda Party.

"This will be, without a doubt, the last Zelda game as you know it in its present form"
But what does that mean? Gameplay changes? A different kind of game altogether? If I don't see a ridiculously awesome OoT-style Zelda game for Revolution, I will simply shrivel up and die from withdrawl.

An RPG would be very awesome. But it also could be done, if you think about it. You have Link as your main character, but you also pick up other party members later in the game (maybe a Goron based character, Zora based character, Sheika based, ect), Mario RPG and/or Crono Trigger.

With all the different "races" in Zelda, an RPG could easily be done as far as a party system would go (i.e. 3 or 4 playable characters).

Ideally, I'd like to see a Zelda game that maintained an active battle system, or at least one that had a timing system (i.e. SMRPG), and levelling up as well. Really, Zelda games have been almost entirely a hack-n-slash with some problem solving and a storyline, it really needs to be something different, I think. I must say though, I'm glad that apparently the new Nintendo Revolution will be backwards compatible with Gamecube games, especially since I went out and bought a Gamecube last year, which was my first console purchase in over nine years since I first bought a Super Nintendo.

RPGs are retarded and dull and boring and suck. All you do is level up pointlessly and attack attack attack with no strategy, until you come to a boss fight, which is the same thing only with periodic healing, and also it's longer and therefore more dull. Let's not forget the tired and cliche plots, which are always so horribly melodramatic and just crappy in general... And the worst part is that if you do this, you know it's gonna sell like mad because of all the idiots out there who don't know the meaning of the word "quality. "I will be doing much wall-punching if an actual Zelda RPG is announced.

So wait.. you'd rather pointless attack monsters over and over and not gain anything for except for replenished health and occasionally some rupees? lolol

And as for their being dull and boring, try Super Mario RPG.

Eh. At least in Zelda, there's some strategy to your movement, choice of attack, etc. Failing that, there's at least variety. This is also featured in some of the better RPGs, like the Tales series of games.

But Super Mario RPG sucks.

The only thing that sucks more than your description of RPGs are bullshit blanket stereotypes. =D

You're right. Instead of "RPGs" I should've said "RPGs made by Square-Enix." So sorry.

There's a few RPG's that fit your description, Kyouji.

Of course, most of them are first-generation RPG's, such as Dragon Warrior. :\
