I wonder if this program will let you edit the sound effects or import new ones.

I wonder if you can take out sound channels. I could make the coolest music that way.

Well, you could just take the track with the particular sound channel you dislike and remove all the notes. That should do it, right?

I'm not sure if this is asked before or not, but would it be possible to have "more" tracks in SMW than SMW have? SMW have a couple of tracks, and in LM you have this long list with all the "Not Used" and so on. Would it be possible to add more working tracks than the original game have, or it is only to replace the existing tracks?

Since you know how to make a program that makes and edits SPC's, why not try to make a Winamp output plugin? One solution to everyone else's problems. |

mvent2, do you have any idea what you're talking about? There are already a bunch of Winamp plugins that read SPC files. Almost all these problems are rom compatibility related and have nothing to do with whether or not you can play the music. I'm going to back up GP on that. Also, in response to FPI's question: it would be logical for the answer to be yes. blackhole89 would know for sure, however.

Do you know the difference between input and output plugins? Input plugins read the file and convert it to raw wave data. Output plugins use the wave data to whatever it is programmed to do with it (eg play it with the speakers or make a .* file) So, note how I said Winamp output plugin. It can make an M-SPC file out of the music. It would make less people resort to hacking and more original work. |

I have a real quick question about Solar Soundtrack: In the Bypass Music & Time Level Setting, once Solar Soundtrack get's released to the public, will we be able to use the empty spots in the list from 1E up to FE... or is that still in the dark?

According to Sukasa's answer I would say yes. But we will see. It would be very cool, of course. |

Originally posted by mvent2 Right, then, so you don't know what you're talking about. Wave format is very different from the SPC format. It would be nigh-impossible to make a program that converts one to another, and even if you managed, it'd make huge files nearly impossible to put into a rom. Like people before me have said, MOD is the only type of file that is similar enough to SPC to easily convert. So instead of working on that pathetic excuse for an idea, he's making an editor so those who want to actually write music into SMW (instead of just toss in their favorite wav) can do so. Originally posted by mvent2 I hope that's a joke. "Hey, let's make a plugin for a popular music generator that lets you rip mp3s into games! That'll encourage originality!" |
