The beneficii says... My sentiment exactly. Just because something seems bizzare doesn't mean you should rally against it. I find furry artwork to be absolutely bizzare and cannot possibly comprehend why so many people like it so much, but I don't want to outlaw furry porn, and I don't discriminate against those who enjoy it. DahrkDaiz wasn't too sure of herself, either, so don't assume it has been. If it was outlawed, it wouldn't be on the basis of popularity. Like I said, this is very seedy stuff in the eyes of the average Japanese citizen, it's not popular and is kept in business mostly because a small group of people are willing to spend great amounts of money, rather than a large group of people spending a reasonable amount of money. I do recall hearing something about a crack-down on the business, though. The age of consent has recently been raised to sixteen in most of Japan (thirteen if it's between youngsters themselves, eighteen if the person involved is ten years older than the minor), and thirteen, fourteen and fifteen year old girls were selling their sailor fuku and panties. And going along with the seediness, they were doing it behind their parents back. Some parents flipped out and started complaining, and the practice has been under legal scrutiny. But I don't think they've been flatly outlawed. More likely, the dealers who buy from the girls have to get proof that she's sixteen or older, or perhaps parental permission. Could you imagine bringing home the parental consent form for that? |
