1. How do I edit "Super Mario World" in the title screen? It's no where in the help file. 2. Is there a way to increase the speed that monty mole pops out? He's a bit slow and I need to change that. Also I'd like to ask everyone on the board something unrelated to actual hacking. What makes a level fun for you? Lots of enemies? Multiple Paths? A good challenge? I'd like to know! |

1: Chelsea code 2: Hex editor (Dont ask me where, just do some looking) I like levels that are fun, but a good challenge is nice in the later levels. |

For me, creativity makes a good level. This includes unique uses of custom blocks, clever arrangement of objects and enemies, and maybe just a touch of challenge. I do like a good challenge.

Multiple paths can actually be good appearing one or two times in a hack, but I think there should be more than one path to the end, because it will be kinda annoying to explore a tight maze. Try to put multiple paths in caves more, and make few or no dead ends. Think about the player, not your fun designing and playtesting. Of course, that is important too... And if you're going to have Mario constricted vertically, don't jam enemies in, especially Spike Tops.

(Case sensitive) 4) The status bar should show the text "Chelsea is really cute!". If it doesn't, close LM and jump to step 1. 5) Open the OV editor and click on File>Chelsea's Bonus Menu>Load Title Screen 6) Edit 7) Save There you go! |

If you send-me an email I will send-you in 2 or 3 days the 8192 file to edit whit some exemples and some personal notes. Or better I will put this on my site when will be finished? If you do not know how to use a hex editor or a block inseter tool use the msdos editor in bynary mod and copy, past, find (...) options to find and past the data but make shore to not change the size of your rom file! The EASIEST tool to use to hack a rom is not an hex editor guys... Its the "SNES Professional ASM Development Kit" Its the best one for now anyways and no its not mine. you can get a copy on here: http://arock.redirectme.net/tools.jsp |

I, myself, enjoy maze like levels (final castle in Demo World TLC, pipe mazes) anywhere where you have to go through multiple doors or pipes to get to the end. I

I think it's more easyer to have an 8192 binary file on your hdd whit the changed title screen pointers coze this can be edited any time whit an common binary editor as 3dedit ... (edited by orynider on 04-23-04 11:34 AM) |
