Thursday
=======
Not much, just went to Andy's house then flew to Seattle. Flight was kinda boring, but I read, played Zelda II, and napped on the flight. Got to Seattle at 10:20 local time, Rick picked us up and we went back to his place. Played some Killer 7 and Halo 2, then hit the sack.

Friday
=====
I woke up with a cold, which sucked, but I managed. Got to the convention center at about 1:30 or so and got at the back of the line which was around the building and in a parking lot, but once the doors opened, it moved really quickly. We went in and wandered for a while. Andy and I ended up playing Magic for a while, then I figured out how the whole console freeplay thing worked. I killed people in Halo, and it was good. Rick was in the Tekken 5 tourney and got past the first round. Andy played in the Magic tourney and got 5th place (4th place and up got prizes). Then I dropped in on the Red vs. Blue panel, where I heard the quote of the day:
"How many tattoos are you going to have in 10 years?"
"All of them. I'm gonna get the whole set."
After that was the concert, with the Video Game Pianist, Optimus Rhyme, and the NESkimos. The VG Pianist was pretty cool, doing FF, Mario, and Zelda series. Optimus Rhyme was cool, and the NESkimos rocked harder than an 8 on the Moh's scale. That's pretty hard. After getting PAXsassinated, I went back to Rick's place, where I fell dead asleep because I was jet-lagged, sick, and had been up all day.

Saturday
=======
After some sleep, we got up and headed back to PAX. We got there in time for Rick, his wife Kate, and I to play in the Halo 2 tourney at 11a. We lost the first round, but it was fun. After that, we just missed seeing the 2nd round of the Omegathon, which by all accounts was crazy. Someone was crying afterwards. I am so buying the PAX '05 DVD, just for that. I went and watched Gabe and Tycho make most of Monday's strip. The Exhibition Center was open today, so I checked it out, bought some sweet stuff, and saw Zelda: TP playable. It looks awesome! After that I played some more Magic and met a guy with The Code tattooed on his chest. It was crazy. And awesome. Crazy-awesome. He also had pi on both wrists. After some more wandering and freeplay, we all went to watch the 4th round of the Omegathon in the theater -- they played Karaoke Revolution. It was hilarious! After that, the concert began, with the Final Fantasy Pianist, MC Frontalot, MC Chris, and the Minibosses. The Final Fantasy Pianist was nice, doing some VII, X, and other stuff. MC Frontalot was OK, but I much rather preferred his non-live versions. Oh well. MC Chris was fucking hilarious! He was an incredible stage presence, and I now need to see him more often, and download more of his songs. The Minibosses were sweet, but I think I enjoyed the NESkimos' show better. It's hard to say. After the concert, it was back to Rick's to grab some more shut-eye.

Sunday
======
Showed up there at around 10:30 for the "Beat the Pros" panel, but it was delayed an hour, so we played some Halo 2 until it started. There was a guy playing Soul Calibur against all comers, and if anyone beat him, they got a $50 gift certificate. A few people won, but all in all, he was pretty good. Next up were two guys playing Halo 2 against all comers, 2v2. The first game they played they barely won 15-14, but the rest they breezed through, including me and Rick. Since they went undefeated, they earned $400 from Gabe and Tycho. I checked out Super Mario Strikers, and it's super awesome. I finally went to the PC freeplay, got some Counter Strike in. I actually did pretty well, to my amazement. After that, it was time for the final round of the Omegathon. After a bit of a wait we all filed into the theater. Gabe and Tycho came onstage and unveiled the Omegathon prize-- at least one of every NES game ever made, every NES accessory, a couple of NES systems, and 2 brand new Alienware computers custom painted Star Wars style, one light side, one dark side. The winner got all the NES stuff and his pick of one of the Alienwares. Then the 2 final Omeganauts came out, Luke and Leroy, and Gabe and Tycho revealed the final game: Combat for the Atari! The contest was 3 rounds- first to 15, or 5 minutes. The first round Luke destroyed, winning it a perfect 15-0. But Leroy came back the second round, and it was tied at the end of the 5 minutes. The third round was extremely tense, and Leroy pulled it out, forcing a tiebreaker. All looked lost for Leroy, as he was down 10-5, but he miraculously pulled ahead with an amazing series of shots, 11-10. Luke tied it back up at 11, and then got a final shot in just in the nick of time to win the round and the Omegathon. Watching that was the most excited I've ever been watching a video game, it was amazing. Luke took his first pick and chose the dark side computer, to the crowd's delight. And so, PAX '05 ended, and I'll have to wait another year to go back.

Please, oh god please go into more detail about PAXsassination. I happen to know a few of the guys on the list from PA Forums. (Legacy, Borfase, and B:L)

Shit, I could only hope to go next year. If the college I want to go to lets me in (COME ON DIGIPEN WOO), it would be a great possibility.

That's probably the greatest "final round" of any game competition ever. Seriously. And Leroy's comeback would have been insane especially after losing the first set 15-0. OUCH.

Glad to hear you had fun.
