I've been searching around for a while, and I've been trying to find an ASM decompiler for the GBA. Now, I know there's a heap of compilers and devkits and the like out there and I keep stumbling into them, but I'm looking for a decompiler, as it's the next step in my Advance Wars 2 hacking...

Any help?

Visual Boy Advance has one, but it won't save to file. I used it to crack the main menu in Pokémon Advance.

VBA is great for quick tracing, but if you want to get your hands dirty with some real reverse engineering, I'd recommend trying to get a copy of IDA Pro (costs a lot, but free if you know where to look ). It takes a bit of getting used to, but once you know what's what it is extremely powerful.

I also highly recommend IDA. It is the best dissasembler out there. Decompilers dont really work well, so i would give up on them and not waste ur time.

IDA does a good job of distinguishing strings, data, and code... it also has support for the ARM processors (gameboys use ARM processors). I use IDA a lot, but never for hacking roms, so im not sure how it would do with a gba rom, but why not give it a shot. Its hard to find a copy on the net, but you can download the demo for free and try it out. I think it has a limit of like 32kb executables though which sux... could probably find a nice crack for it. I wouldnt know though, as my copy is legit.

Good luck.
