I just recently got Mega Man: Dr. Wily's Revenge for Gameboy, and dear god, it kicks so much ass up and down the street. It's like they switched Cutman and Elecman's difficulties from the NES game. I have managed to get to the second-to-last boss though, but he keeps fucking ABSORBING MY SHOTS.

Gah.

It's so much easier to control with a gameboy than it is with a keyboard. Same can go for Megaman 2, which I also have. Of course, I did beat it in a short amount of time, but it's still good

Any of you feel the same?

This is true for almost all games.

Real thing > emulator.

I do find console games easier on the "real thing" than games that are played on emulators. The controller is usually easier to handle. And I just seem to play better on the real things.

Not quite. I remember how many tries it would take me to get my NES to load a game. An emulator does it in one shot

Even so, once you get it booted up the control is usually top notch and not annoying to play with and or has limits as a keyboard does.

You don't have a joypad for your computer? Well of course it's not going to be as good.

Playing emulated games is practically a chore without it, except of course RPGs like the Final Fantasy series.

Enker? Yeah, he does that. Just don't shoot too much, and his beam won't be that hard to avoid. He's not hard. Quick Man was harder for me.

Only the rest of us that are too cheap to buy one I'd rather save my money to buy real games for my systems than a joypad that might break when I get pissed off at smb3 and chuck it across the room.

Most PC's joypads are crap IMO.

That's why I use the keyboard. But I would rather play with a controller. *is getting an GCN>USB adaptor someday...*

Well, you know... I think that either way is fine to me. I play Megaman X and other action games without much trouble at all, and puzzle games I'm pretty good with as well. Fighting games... can be a little tough when the input for the moves start to get crazy. The one game that I probably cannot play with an emulator, HAS to be Super Mario Kart, and probably some other racing games. I just have to be holding something when playing a racing game for some odd... reason.

I repeat, I've never used a PC gamepad that hasn't felt like a cheap lump of plastic in my hands.

Give me my PSX adaptoid any day.

Only the gifted people like me Leg.

But yea...definitely real thing over the emu...but then again there was this one exception between KOF 99 between the MAME32 emu and the PSX...a lot easier to get the moves off on the comp than the damned PS controller...but that's only because I'm extremely good with the damned keyboard and it's two-button press rule.

I use the keyboard too and I'm perfectly fine with it ... for NES at least, I'm as good as on the real thing since I'm so used to it It's slightly harder on SNES, Genesis and GameBoy Advance but still fine, N64 becomes a problem though with its many buttons and the control stick ...

But the real thing does give a better gaming feel

I used to have a PC joystick at some point (1999-2000), but it was a cheap one that didn't last too long ...

I also think the real thing is better. It's just a better feeling to it, and without a controller, I keep having to use the damn keyboard! The keyboard is restraining me from beating many games. Except Megaman 5. That game is EASY

Huh... That's EXACTLY the same idea which came to my mind when this thread appeared! Mega Man 3 happens to be one of those rare NES games that work properly (it's still in the system right now). Most PC gamepads are weak, a PSX-USB adaptor is what I've been using. So many things get boring when played in an emulator. I really need a way to put SNES and GBA games on a cartridge. There are devices which may never get emulated too.

I liked MM3 on the emulator.
You know why?
It was free. free. no money. I downloaded, I played, I threw a fit, I trashed. the end.

I find the emulator beneficial because I like to do gamegenie shit without risk of ruining my cartridges.. although the actual console is more fun.
