Try the one called "hot mario campaign version". It's difficult to find since most ROM sites labeled it a nuke and don't offer a download. Stupid? Yes, being the easiest way to put SMB on a flashcart. I've got a copy if you need it. (edited by theclaw on 08-25-05 06:06 PM) |

...OR you could just download a NES emulator and play SMB on that. I was stunned to see people complaining about these *NES* games not working on a GBA emulator. Priorities, people. |

I think they get that... and yeah, that game doesn't work with VBA, because: you can play NES version (Super Mario Bros) with NES emulator, SNES version (Super Mario All-Stars) with SNES emulator or GBC version (Super Mario Bros. Deluxe) with GBC emulator... Reasons, why that rom doesn't work with VBA... |

Here's the deal. Nintendo had some kind of protection on the Classic Nes Games Collection. It had to do with the saving or whatever. There are cracked versions that work in VBA. It's not like I have them or anything...(PM me) Or, you could just play the NES rom version in a NES emulator. |

Originally posted by Colleen I think this is about the sixth thread now over the course of about 8 months regarding this subject in general. From what I can gather, it's a matter of e-penis and status. Fun, eh? E-penis: because it's out, and must be played. Even though the game can be purchased for a grand total of 7 cents for the NES, and there are plenty copies of it circulating on the internet if the cart is not accessible. Status: because everyone else is doing it. And since it's "classic," it's just a mere port of the original. Nothing new added as far as I can tell. You know VBA or another emulator will have support for it eventually, all a matter of when. Personally, I don't care, I have 5 different methods of playing SMB as it is right now. ...Now if I cared to play it again, that's another story. |

I think one of the beta versions of VBA *might* support some of them but I'm not sure. Still, the fact remains that if you can run a GBA emulator, you can sure as hell run a NES one. |

Your comments are useless Funny, I thought a decent thread popped up as a result. :\ Only differences would be in the display and maybe in sound if you listened really closely. Everything else should be authentic to the NES game. |

And bloated to a rather large-sized ROM that could easily be stripped down. How much of the rom consists of 0's? I'd guess at least 80-90% of it. |

You'd be better off playing Super Mario Bros. Deluxe if you are so adamant on playing SMB1 on GBA. It runs fine, and SMB Deluxe is a much better port than the NES Classic SMB. |
