Anyone have any experiences doing said topic? I'm looking for a piece and I'm finding better selections online than local stores, but I'm wary to the idea of getting it before I see it. Anyone have any suggested, trusted online jewelers?

Well big companies like Robins Bros or something have online stores.. that's something you can trust. Though I haven't tried myself, I'm sure it's easy to do.. maybe there are pictures of the piece you plan to buy on the site? Check out some well known companies, as I'm sure they have more than some noname place.. I'm willing to bet they thought of this and took the necessary steps to prevent losing business because of it. Yeah?

Yeah, I'd check well know Jewelry store sites as well. Ones you never heard of wouldn't be a good bet . Make sure you'll be able to see it before you buy it because I was watching something on 20/20 about Jewelry and how even some stores sell you something and the carats or something else measured isn't with the right price.

I'd buy jewelry in a store rather than online.

EDIT: Yeah, finally! 100 posts!

I have bought jewelry online (well, my mom has) and we had no bad experience with it at all. It was quite some time ago, and I can't remember what we bought, but I think it was from Kay's or People's or something like that. It was supposed to be shipped out a few weeks after we bought it and I remember my mom saying that it was amazing on the speediness of delivery. Something like a week and it was there.

So in my experience buying online is no different than buying in a store except a bigger selection (depeding), and sometimes it takes a little time to arrive. I say go for it if it's something you like.

And don't buy from unknown stores or ebay. Ebay crap is just that...crap. We bought a ring and it came tarnished and we were told it was brand new. Just be careful where you buy from...

I bought a ring for one of my old gf's for valentines day from Kay's and it was pretty nice (had a nice price too) I would just try to stick with the larger companys. Also, my auntes a pretty big catalog freak, mabey you should look into that as well.

I don't trust real flesh jewlers, let alone virtual ones. No, I don't think I'll be shopping for those online.
