This topic came up in irc. List what kind of injuries or anything like that you've recieved.

Broken bones:
- None

Insect bites:
- Ants, just your standard ants with the burning sensation. Nothing special.
- I don't know if I've been bitten by a spider before. If I have, I was either asleep or didn't realize it.
- Bees! (Your weapons are useless against them.) The first time I was stung was in 2nd grade gym class and it was from a dead bee. I was sitting in back listening to the teacher and I reached under the bleachers to touch a dead bee. (I didn't know any better. It was dead and at that age, dead=harmless.) When I got stung, I tried to scream/yell but the pain was so great then that I could only open my mouth with no sound. It took a few seconds before I could actually get someones attention.

Several years passed before I was stung again. When I was 16, I had a job working for a conservation corps. We were in the woods trimming tree branches when I stepped on a bees nest. I didn't realize it when it happened. I felt something prick my hand and noticed a couple of bees on it. I dropped my tool thingy (which I had been told several times not to if something like this happened) and took off running. Very luckily for me, that's all the happened. I was only stung about 3-4 times.

Other living creatures:
- Dog bites, nothing serious.
- Never been bitten by a snake.
- Jellyfish sting on my side while swimming on the beach when I was about 13. Hurt like hell. >(

Medical conditions:
- Been pretty lucky in this department. The only thing I remember getting are just your common colds. Maybe a fever here and there when I was younger.
- I discovered, when I was 17, that I had a bone tumor (benign) on my right femur. It was right about where it connects to the hip. I had surgery to remove it and have about a 3 inch scar going down my left leg now. w00t!

- Misc
- Had to get stitches in my upper lip one time a few years ago. I was skateboarding at the school. I sometimes skated towards a basketball hoop, jumped off, and grabbed the rim. This time though, I had too much momentum and it ended up with me landing on the concrete face first. When I woke up, my mouth was gushing blood. I couldn't feel much pain really, probably mild shock. The stiches on the other hand hurt like a bitch. My upper lip swelled up so much that I looked like a duck, it was horrible. Luckily for me though, my parents let me stay home from school that week. It was borderline freakshowish.

That's about all I can think of for now.

Broken bones:
My arm, when I was 2 months old. Car crash.

Bites/stings:
I got stung by a wasp when I was young.
I also got bit in the face by a dog when I was young.

Scars:
I have a small indentation on my forehead from a piece of glass in the aforementioned car crash.
My middle and ring finger knuckles on my right hand are scarred from a bike crash. I should lie and say that it's from a bar fight.
My knees are probably a little scarred from being scraped up every week for like 7 winters in a row

Surgeries:
Tonsils & Adenoids removed
Wisdom teeth removed

Notables:
Heh
In the vein of the above, I've got a couple of good marks on my arm right now. >_>

Scars all over my hands and wrists due to the nature of my work.

My knees and legs are pretty scraped up.

I've never broken a bone.

I've never had major surgery.

I have a burn where someone lit a firework off on my chest while I was drunk.

Broken bones:
- Never broken a bone yet

Insect bites:
-Hmm.. mosquitos, bees, but nothing worse than that. This may be because if I'm aware there is a bug within 100 feet of me, I run.

Medical conditions:
Never been hospitalized before, I'm pretty lucky. Only gotten stitches once, and I went home afterwards.

Misc
-Scar on my right palm I got when the temp adjuster in the bathtub snapped off while I was turning it. I missed the main artery in my palm by less than an inch. 9 stitches and a permanent bump on my hand. I also have scars all over my legs and elbows from softball, playing catcher, ect. I also have a scar on my right thumb from the sharp part of an aluminum foil box. It got the best of me when I was 8 years old.

My left pinky was dislocated in August of '95 (part of a very shitty year, but that's a story for another day). From the middle knuckle on up, the it points left, and is very noticeable. I can't straighten the finger out that easily. (I can if I force it, and it used to hurt when I did that.)

Something that looks like a surgery scar on the inner part of my right elbow, and I have no idea what it is. I don't remember ever having surgery for anything, this must of been when I was an infant.

A scar inbetween my thumb and index finger on my right hand. Happened in November of....'97? The Lion King was about to start, and I wanted to get a snack to watch it. During the extreme "nothing in terms of cash" times, I opened a can of canned peanut butter (tastes like shit too) and removed the lid. The lid went a good couple inches in, and it hurt like a bitch. No stitches (didn't have a phone, so couldn't tell anybody), and no lost thumb movement or functionality. Guess I was lucky. My thumb does get irritated easier now after bowling, it used to take 4 games. Now it only takes 2 games...

Broken bones: none.

Never hospitalized for anything, the only times I was there is because my brother was either having stitches inserted or removed. Although, when I was young (like 4 or 5, can't believe I even remember this), I did have an E.E.G. scan. Whatever the result of the test, I was never told, and my mom refuses to tell me what the results were. When I was 7, I also went in for a CAT scan. Again, I was never informed about the results...

Misc:
I'm a fucking insomniac and it pisses me off that I can't get to sleep when I'm tired.

I've been bit in the ass twice by two different dogs. This is over the span of about 5 years too.

--Edit--
I damn near lost my right eye due to a lawn dart. I was being somewhat careless, my brother launched the dart, and it hit the very edge of the socket, never touching the actual cornea. I think there's still a mark after all of this time too (this happened when I was 6 years old).

I've never had a broken bone so far. I've fractured fingers.. and got near to breaking my toe. That was the stubbing to end all stubbing. I just fractured it. It turned all black and blue, but I never got it checked out because my mom said I wasn't screaming, so it must've not been much.
That woman does not like dealing with anything medical for me.
After forever it went away.. so yeah.

No interesting bug bites. Mosquitos of course. Two bee stings in my life. Sometimes I get spider bites.. one time as a kid I got spider bites on my stomach that just blew up into disgusting things. They went away eventually.

I have a large scar on the back of my left hand. When I was a babyling, my mom left a hot iron on the floor while she left the room to chat on the phone. I'm glad I don't remember this experience. She said my skin was all bubbly and she was convinced they were going to take me away. She was pretty trashy back then. When I scratch that hand now, it gets all red REALLY fast.
Another time, I was bouncing on my bed, fell off, and cracked my knee open. I have a scar from that, it's not a big deal.
Above my left eyebrow I have this bizzarre dent. Like I got a serious cut there or something. I don't know where it's from.
When I was some angsty 12 or 13 year-old, I got some minor acne. It appeared on my nose, and I hated it, so I took a knife to it. Yeah.. so I got a lovely scar on my nose forever. It's not THAT bad.. I mean I got used to it. At least I don't have a wart there or something.
Five years ago I poked the side of my leg with a sharp pencil, and got a ton of graphite in there. It's still in, you can see an obvious grey mark embedded in my skin. I've thought about stabbing it out, but that self-multilation phase has been over for a while.

I've never had surgery or stitches, hooray.

I don't have medical conditions either. When I was a kid I had some bizzarre eye problem that made them all red and in pain, I forget what it was called. The doctor said I couldn't be playing videogames for a while. We had JUST rented bomberman, so my mom had me play with her. I had to sit in the back of the room tough, instead of my face against the screen like I usually did.
I also have allergies that can get so bad I feel like I can't breath right. My mom refuses to do anything about this, she won't even pick up some medicine. So tough for me.

I have an ingrown toenail thing going on. It's healed since my fabulous thread from a while back, but I'm still in pain. Both of my toes are just bitches. >8(

Broken bones:

I broke my collarbone when I was about 5, trying to climb some shelves to reach a toy that was placed out of reach.

Insects etc:

I got infested with mites after sleeping in the grass in Newcastle earlier in the year. Killed them all pretty quickly with a cream though... "scabies" sounds much worse than it is. It sounds like something a pirate would die of (arrr! the dreaded scabies? I'm sorry matey) but actually it's just a rash caused by allergy to the little buggers.

I don't remember precisely but I've been bitten by various ants various times - including once by those huge red bullants. Ow.

Mosquitos of course. I think that's it. No spiders or jellyfish, thank god. This is Australia, that shit ain't pretty.

Scars:

A kid threw scissors at me when I was six, I blocked them with my right hand, and the resulting scar (and deformed black hair sprouting from it) is how I learned left from right.

I've had a couple of other injuries that I was amazed didn't scar... guess I heal well.

Broken bones:
None

Bites/stings:
Wasps. (The first time I got stung I started to cry.)
Bumble bees. (It hurts more to be stung bu one of these that to be stung by wasps or bees.
Cats. I got bitten by a cat once. It did hurt but I didn´t start to cry. I just looked at it. I didn´t have time to react before I was bitten. These animals are fast.

Scars:
I have a little scar a 'wee' bit from my eye. I got a rocketing soccerball there and my glasses were pushed backwards so I got this big-ass scar there.

Surgeries:
My ear. I don´t remember which one but I had an inflammation of the otitis. Hurted like hell.

Broken bones:
My face. I got hit in the face by a golf club swung full-force; it cracked my left cheek bone (whatever it's called) and stuck my ear to my head, but I got it unstuck before it healed like that. I got the nickname "raccoon" because it gave me two black eyes for a month.

Bites:
The odd ant or spider bite. Been swarmed by wasps more than once... glad I'm not allergic to them! One hornet bite, and never been stung by a bee. I did get bitten by a grasshopper once, though. That hurt! Oh, and once by a little yappy dog.

Other injuries
I've sprained/strained/dislocated every freaking joint in my body at least once. Including all 3 joints on each finger. I'm kind of asking for that type of injury with the stuff I do, though.

I sunk a pair of scissors about 1/2" into my thumb many years ago... they were too dull to cut what I was trying to cut and they slipped. Definitely learned a lesson there.

I got my face stepped on accidentally (four of us were wrestling, I got pushed off of a platform and fell down, then someone else got pushed onto me), which gave me a good solid lump on my forehead. That also gave me two black eyes for a month, and I got the nickname "burglar" that time.

Never been hospitalized, thankfully.

Broken bones: Aside from the occasional ankle sprain, nothing.

Insect bites: Horsefly bites, bee stings (twice), and a hell of a lot of mosquito bites.

Other Living creatures: A dog and a goose.

Medical conditions: Tonsils and adenoids taken out, and I had to have some of my teeth broken and removed before getting braces.

Misc: Ah, here's where the fun begins.
- Wooden sword blow to the head that left my glasses bent and a few good bruises here and there.

- Fencing foil that tore a hole in my shirt and gave me a pair of good scrapes up my right arm (they're almost gone now) at 2:30 in the morning, along with a rather large bruise that still hasn't gone away entirely. I'm quite lucky I was wearing a mask.

- Game of manhunt that caused me to trip, fall, tear open my jeans on a particularly sharp plant and get a cut that eventually got filled with mud. I cleaned it before being infected.

- Various welts on my side and back from my paintball days.

-Stitches from when I slammed my chin down rollerblading. The scar's still there, it's noticeable when you look at my chin while I have a beard growing.

Hah! That's what I did with the scar on my hand. It worked well.
I remember someone teaching me by saying you know because your left hand can make an L shape.. but I liked the method of "ugly hand left, normal hand right" better.

I'm surprised all of the broken bone responses are very minor. I'm waiting for someone to show up with all sorts of broken bone stories.
I just remember this kid from elementary school who'd show up in some sort of cast to school at least twice a year. I don't know what he did in his free time, but damn..

Broken bones:
- Nope.

Insect bites:
- Nope, I've been good enough to avoid such. (I'm not counting mosquitoes and mosquito like insects.)

Medical conditions:
Only thing would be that I had hernia when I was a baby. Obviously, I don't remember anything of that. I still have a weak scar on the bottom part of my belly.
I've also had the cold and fever when younger.

Misc:
Heh, and once, in highschool, I got this immense headache. It was so bad I couldn't think enough to form a sentence. I could only answer with yes and no when the teacher asked me questions (Obviously, they noticed something was wrong). It ended up with me leaving school for the day, and pretty much staying in bed for the rest of the day. I vomited twice on the way home, but I didn't care.

It has never happened to me again after that, and I have no idea where it came from. Though, I'm suspecting that the reason was the bad indoor climate we had in that classroom.

Broken bones:
- None

Insect bites:
- I was stung by a yellow jacket once.

Surgery/stitches:
- When I was two, I fell off of a fast spinning merry-go-round, and hurt my neck very badly. I remember having to go to the cyroptractor (sp?) for months...

Misc:
- Um... a television set fell on my head once. And it was one of those old, two ton ones. And all of the contents of the cabinet on which it sat, but fortunately not the cabinet itself.

But basically, I'm invincible.

I forgot to mention when I was about 10, my brother threw a recorder (you know that musical instrument?) at me because I called shotgun for the car ride to school. It hit my forehead in two places, one under my hair that bled forever, and one above my eyebrow. I have a small scar from it, and almost a dent where it hit me under my hair.
My brother still laughs about how great his aim was when he was only 11. >8(

My friend Tim had a hollow bone in his arm, so he would break it all the time. One time he broke it while masturbating. XD He eventually got a metal rod and a dead guy's bone put in there.

But then about a year and a half ago, we were playing soccer out on the turf field and he tried to slide tackle me, fucked up, and somehow broke the ring finger bone in the palm part of his hand. In three places. Had to get a metal plate for that, I think it's still in there.

He's slowly becoming a cyborg.
