Seems like the internet is very expensive in england compared to you guys. I have to pay £17.99 a month for 256b/sec DSL. that sucks though my dad does allow me to use his T1 connection at his office.

Guys... sure, he could probably get a nice Internet connection on even minimum wage. Thing is, there are more important things to spend money on, like rent and electricity (or else what good is the Interweb?), and his family probably doesn't want to spend what little money they have on it.

Yeah, my parents are like that too. I wonder why I still have mine sometimes but I dont think it's too much for us to where we can use the 15 bucks to pay for anything else. It's understandable having to get rid of really good internet because it can get expensive. Even some is cheap sometimes it isn't good enough so might as well spend that money on stuff you really need.

We're paying 90 bucks a month total for cable right now (both TV and computer).. it's crazy. My mom has some money spending problem ($872 for a Shadow the Hedgehog plush. no lie), and I'm afraid one day it'll all bite us in the ass.
DSL is cheaper, but installing it costs quite a bit, and I always hear stories about how it's unrealiable. I never have a problem with cable, I love it.

..obviously?
I don't see what you're countering here. We know he's having financial issues.

Well people were saying he must be really in the hole if he isn't even making 15 bucks a month... that's obviously (hopefully) not the case. He just can't spare it.

Internet here is like $40 a month .

I feel for you, Kario. As a matter of fact, just last May I had to give up the internet due to financial issues... but I got it back in the middle of June. Phew.

Hope you can get a real internet soon... none of that AOL crap.

My brother pays the bills, or at least he used to. A fast connection used to be very important to him when he used to play MOHAA every night. His clan won the european title for the realism mod a year ago. He still plays, but most of his time is spent on WoW instead of MOHAA.

It's still worthwhile for him though. Him and 9 other friends shared £300 of MOHAA prize money from the I series LAN weekend earlier this year. Bastard

Wow... That really sucks. You should study other options as soon as possible, seriously...
When others pay like $200 of Internet connection a year, you pay over $1000... They're raping your wallet.

I used to have to pay 100 bucks a month for direcTV internet access. Plus an installation fee

My parents decided to go back to dial-up since it was too expensive. I dont blame them.

Well, I share an 8Mbit connection with a classmate and it costs around $86 each quarter of the year.

So my internet is pretty cheap.

I used to have AOL type of DSL .

DSL sometimes goes out..like..just doesn't work and when people call it loses the connection sometimes . I don't get it..it does has it's issues but it's okay.

For cheap internet..PeoplePC sucks ass, Netzero was okay for a dialup, AOL..yeah I had that as one..well Broadband but it still hella sucked. DSL has been the best so far but since we bumped down the price it got a little more slow but not bad. It was 45 a month or even more.

My DSL is around $50/month including the dreaded modem rental fee (that you can't waive) and taxes.

If my parents decided to get satellite on top of that, we'd be looking at $110-120/month easily. It's crazy, like Ashley said.

English is not my native toung and I could tell you that you should not capitalise every word

My stand on this is that it is not TOO expensive. . . but for auntie and me it is just expensive enough. Lucky we can still afford a good internet connection and have money for everything else left over..I think we are very fortunate, for that

Someone should spend less time with Mr. Saturn.

Anyway, here i'm afraid that I might be without internet for a day or two just becuse of the dorm maybe not giving me access until I started school. Oh well.

Internet is not that important in life, and if there is any libary near where you live they should have computers. All libaries have computers in Sweden.
