Hey is there a easier way to get to the commons, then just to go to this post and scroll down and click on commons? Hey Randy I was only saying thanks. Whats the big idea.

Stated in the FAQ...

Dont's

9. Act like the board is a chat room (post messages like "HEY ACMLM", "I AGREE", "Whats up?", or similar messages directed to people). This is what private messages are for.

Just drop it and follow the rules.

To answer your question, look at the top of the page and you will find Commons in between the ACS and the Calendar. Clicking on it will take you to the commons forum. Other way is to forum jump at the bottom of the page of a forum and select any one of the commons section you want to visit. Hope that helps.

OK, guys... I changed around some of the name colors, but ONLY in the Twilight Princess theme. Let us know if you think the changes are good or if we need to make a few more tweaks. Thanks.

You really shouldn't do that since you end up missing out on all the file information that way.

Did you really? They all still look terrible.
Some colors should be tweaked slightly to look better in many themes, but for Twilight Princess.. a dark-on-light scheme just won't work out. Even if you get username colors right, custom titles and things like that will never look good. Same with the [color] tags, or the Syndromes, and possibly other things.
I remember when I had a board to mess around with, I tried to come up with an effective way to have both light and dark schemes on the same board. I even made it Zelda themed as well (not that it matters). It just isn't worth it in the long run.

However, I think this scheme can still look awesome with the same banner, and a light-on-dark theme.

I see where you're coming from, Ashley.

If you look at the colors on the light green, they're fine contrast wise... but there's some on the dark green that definitely clash, now that I look at it.

I dunno. Odds are that if I come up with a combo that looks good on the dark green, they're going to be hard to read on the light... this is tricky.

Thanks Colleen I think I might tweak them a little later (while keeping a copy of your colours). I think I might be able to make them clash less by reducing their colour saturation. Usually works with light backgrouns.

As for layouts, a light scheme shouldn't be anything to worry about. Anyone who uses the [tags] usually already has a background in place, anyone who doesn't is usually asking for trouble because some of the standard themes can make their text unreadable anyway.

I agree about the custom titles, but I really want to make a lighter scheme work. We don't have any kind of lighter schemes, and it shouldn't be impossible.

Ok, here's an update for tonight...

Tonight I'm mainly focusing on fixing whatever is wrong with newreply.php, then moving the copyright information in Horde and Acmlmboard 1.B to the bottom of the page, as in Alliance.

I also need to resume tracking down where that weird problem came from that stretched that layout to 800 screens long, or something. CSS dictates that the padding attribute uses the closest element when padding is defined as a percentage. Where IE is getting 2% of that massive number is a mystery, but Firefox doesn't seem to mind.

I'm also going to see if I can improve the name colours in Twilight Princess.

If I get most of these done tonight, I might be able to get around to making an Orc theme on Sunday, and possibly start work on a new second generation scheme that doesn't use the sidebar. Time will tell, sooner or later, time will tell

I haven't read this entire thread, so forgive me.. But is it at all possible to make the side-menu on the left optional? I just.. really hate it. Everything else about the new themes is awesome, but the side-menu just sucks. Takes up way too much room for a bunch of functions I don't use very often..

I can see many changes now. The font when you´re writing a reply is changed, Commons are up there, new buttons, you removed the Dani banner from the Dani scheme? Why?

I noticed that the commons were in the forumjump, yesterday. I guess I´ve to check out that new Zelda scheme later on then.

Kas: Sweet. Maybe something *can* be salvaged out of this after all.

Trapster: Dani banner might have been an accident/bug and it can either be reuploaded or fixed depending on what the problem is.

1.B is looking pretty sweet so far, but the side bar thing is just plain annoying.

Otherwise good job.

The banner problem is a problem that was carried over from the Devboard. Colors.php is overriding the banners and the buttons for all the schemes.

It'll also be on the agenda for tonight.

I actually like the sidebar, I've gotten used to it. I think the problem (and it's understandable) is that we're so used to the original system that... well... we're lost without our links at the top.

There are still links at the top though. We have to get used to memorizing which links moved to the sidebar and which didn't.
I just don't understand the point. It's not like it added much convenience.

Well, it's a new look pretty much... these are Theme 2's or something along those lines.

If anyone wants to try make a Theme 1 that looks like the Theme 2's... be my guest.

Here are my suggestions for 1.B:

1. The acmlm/acmlm/blades/emuz (why 2 acmlms?) images at the top should link to their profiles. When I first saw the theme thats what I thought they did.

2. Change the white to black and make the links yellowish. Kinda like the daily cycle theme but with the new style.

3. I find it useless to have all that empty space on the left when you scroll down the page. Maby make just the links follow you when you scroll? That way you don't have to go up to the top of the page again.

4. The huge empty white space to the right at the top? Get rid of the first acmlm head image and make a huge acmlm head facing left towards the acmlm/blades.emuz images. I think it would look better.

5. When you right click properties on the big banner header thing at the top with the images it shows a link to your own profile.

6. The "Post Radar" link that remains at the top needs a capital R on radar so it matchs with the other ones.

7. I personally don't like the post radar at the bottom. It looked better at the top.

8. The bottom left where it shows the board version should be changed a little. Make the 1.B image link to the versions.

Thats just my thoughts and suggestions on the new style. It looks nice otherwise. The alliance one is my fave so far.

~EDIT~

By the way, none of the emoticons are working for some reason.
