Reminds me of all those movies you see about people robbing banks.. I didn't know you could actually pull something like that off. And man, nobody knew til Monday morning.. that's pretty sly. Was it $65 mil total, or 50 bags of $65 mil? Cuz that's... a looott of money. |

65 American, and yeah, that's what I was thinking when I read it. I wonder when the movie comes out. |

I assume that "The Great Escape" is a movie? I haven't been to see one in a while, and haven't ever seen any need to keep track of them Anyways, as for the topic at hand... I don't see how the robbers could have made it into the bank without triggering any alarm systems, even though they tunnelled into it Unless the containers of money were right near the hole, I'd think you would get caught by some sort of sensor almost immediately. I also think seeing van after van of dirt leaving the building each day to be rather suspicious after a little while, even given the front they put up Although seeing as it appears they only took two days to do all that, there might not have been enough time for people to notice. They must've really worked at it to get everything done in just two days. I can't help but wonder why I'm picturing the bank from the second island on GTA: Vice City as the bank that article refers to Overall, that is pretty interesting |

They rented the space, and said it was an artificial turf company, so dirt going away wouldn't look suspicious.

And the only time they could drill through the concrete was when they were SURE the bank was empty.. must have taken forever. But in the end, I think they feel it's worthwhile. Sort of reminds me of the Italian Job, but that was gold. Great movie though. |

Yeah, that was a pretty bad ass bank robbery. I've got a lot of respect for the guys that try to crack the Swiss codes. It takes true brilliance to demolish a gigantic structure designed to keep people out, and if they get in...hold them in. And ON TOP OF THAT to somehow crack through nearly infinite layers of supreme security. |

He's right with the $156m figure but that's in Brazilian reals. It's around $68m in US dollars.

This isn't like Ocean's 11. This is WAYY cooler because it really happened and they actually pulled it off.

Yeah, I doubt this heist had to try and force humerous situations, and merge it with romance.
