Yes, that would be helpful, because we only have the news story to go by right now.

It makes me wonder if there was a military discharge or some sort of test going on.

More likely it was a methane explosion.

It could be. The articles that I posted keep suggesting red tide (overgrowth of algae causing oxygen depletion) though. Still, hasn't it at least been a while before anything this bad has occured, or is it that we're just better able to observe this sort of thing?

Red Tide, DOES NOT CAUSE THAT LEVEL OF DAMAGE. That's a BS excuse if I've ever heard one.

It had to be something that had a radial use. If it scoured the bottom it was probably a methane explosion. The fossil record that we have that catalogues methane explosions have very similar effects as that.

I'm not going to get into a talk about global warming, but the catalogue of events that relate to similar events also correspond to ancient rises in temperature...

Hmmm, good point. What do you mean by "radial use"?

A methane explosion would probably be a good explanation. Perhaps you have details of how a methane explosion works?

Regarding warming oceans, I noticed this year that as late as June, sea surface temperatures in the Atlantic had severe differentiations along 40 degrees north. It was very warm south of 40 degrees and very cold north of 40 degrees. It was as though the Gulf Stream was having trouble getting the warm water north. Let me post a link to another forum, a weather forum, that I post on:

Well, I can't find it, but still, you can go to www5.wright-weather.com/bb/ and use the search feature there and you can find some of our old discussions on the issue.

It is a term that I've heard explosive designers that my dad knows use to describe something that has a semi-symetrical destruction "wave"...Heh.

Anyways a methane explosion is basically where the methane that is trapped at the bottom of the ocean is warmed to where it is no longer frozen. It becomes gaseous and along its way up it basically suffocates all life in the area. There is no real model of the fluid dynamics of a methane blast in today's oceans, so I couldn't tell you exactly how far it would have to go to cause this sort of damage. Additionally, I couldn't tell you where it could've taken place. I don't know the area...at all. If there is really deepwater near there, then it is possible that the methane burst is the probable cause. Otherwise, I'm going with some sort of test or accident.

This whole event is really odd.

I kinda get a weird feeling when I think about it. Well if its a government test, I guess we'll never know...because the government sucks like that.

I think it´s Forneus, the Water Guardian that´s gathering an army.

Let´s hope it´s nothing serious.
