Hi.

Anyone here remember a topic I posted weeks ago here on an instant death problem I had in my hack?

I'm proud to say I have finally gotten over this problem, with some help from Smallhacker (I was talking to him on AIM earlier today). However, in place of the previous, very annoying problem, I have a new problem (I don't think this one is as annoying to me as the last one was).

In my hack, I have an ExGFX file containing each frame for the Smashable Brick, but in both LM and the rom, the graphics for the block look garbled, despite the fact they aren't garbled in YY-CHR. The regular GFX in my hack aren't garbled either, just incase anyone is wondering.

Anyone know how I can ungarble the ExGFX?

I would guess that you probably have the graphics file saved in the wrong format. Post up your ExGFX file so that we might look at it and better guage your problem.

I recall somewhere in the help file that you should extract the ExGraphics as 3bpp tiles and reinsert them with the ASM hack to turn them into 4bpp tiles. It says that if you don't a very likely chance is that you will get garbled graphics. Read the readme for help.

Good news guys, I just figured out the problem.

I noticed I accidentally inserted them as 4BPP Genesis tiles, so I was able to fix this problem. 'whistles in relief'

I guess this can be closed now...
